as little as I like Hingis I can't deny that she would win in any match against the real Martina played today. But when both in their prime, I would give it to Navratilova any day

I think it's a valid poll. It's just our opinions. Besides, she's still an active doubles player.

O come on people this is only in good fun.

I actually think it is a logical vote.

FACTS

Martina Nav. has good hands. She is still a great doubles specialist. Hingis hasn't won a grandslam in 3 years. Martina N. has a decent serve and volley. Hingis has a poor serve but great groundies. I would love to see these two play each other in a slam final. And if the surface is grass then I REALLY say Martina N. If it is Clay then you gotta go with the baby "Tina".

Sheesh this is actually giving them both a great compliment... so beat it or VOTE

Lets see...Hingis beat both Venus and Serena this year.
Does any one here seriously think that Martina N. would have a chance against Venus or Serena?

Hingis is a top 5 player. Does anyone seriously think Martina N. can compete against a top 5 player?

The poll is rather funny.. but anyone who seriously thinks Martina N. would win is completely off of their rocker. Hingis would not only beat her in singles, she would and HAD taken her in doubles as well. I'm speaking today...not in their relative primes.

Dawn: you comment that Martina N. is a good serve and volleyer (no arguements here), then you comment that Hingis' serve is weak (once again.. no arguement!).

However... do u honestly think Martina N's serve is that much better at this point?

Just curious. If its any concellation, I find the poll quite funny.

For the 75% who picked Martina N though... your all eighter kidding, or have no idea what your talking about

ys: if you seriously beleive that a 45 year old women - I don't care HOW good she USED to be - could beat Hingis, your also a crack head.

Martina Hingis is a better doubles player than Martina N. is NOW, and she would clearly be a better singles player. To suggest otherwise, suggests that you think Martina N, is good enough to reach Grand Slam finals, and beat the Williams sisters and Davenport (not ALL the time, but occasionally). And if anyone here thinks that, I question if you've ever watched tennis before.

But we're all welcome to our opinions. The rest of you, are just wrong however

Becca I said all in good fun

And I give it a toss up but voted for The REAL Martina because she said nice things about Venus recently. But really alot of people are underestimating Navratolova. Is Hingis's ankle injury 100%?? Cause one must factor that as well. RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW I am gonna go with MN.

I am not a crack head, Becca.
::ys tries to decide if he should feel offended by that idea::

I am with minority vote here.. I like to be in minority when it comes to accepting or rejecting something..

The valid question would, however, be who would win if they'd play each other at each's prime.. Valid, yet meaningless..

Becca your factoring in way too many players. I am asking IF these two would play a match right now who would win? I say MN would do well. 45 years old or not. lol

Clever, Zummi. You can't lose!

Back to the poll. Hingis lost to Arantxa in April 2001. Navratilova beat Arantxa in December 2001. Either way you vote holds water.

No Cheops... things don't work that way.

Well, I think that Hingis should win. Hingis has one great advantage over Navratilova, that is speed. And Hingis is rather good at passing volleyers too. She has great precision on her passing shots, therefore, I think that Hingis would win this match.

The only players that Martina Hingis has had real trouble against throughout her career has been baseline power players. That's something, Martina N was not! The question about who will win now, is plain silly!

But even at both of their personal bests, Hingis would probably win.
