BRATISLAVA, Slovakia (AP) -- Lilia Osterloh of Columbus, Ohio, upset top-seeded Daja Bedanova of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-3 Tuesday in the first round of the $110,000 Eurotel Slovak Indoor.

Bedanova, the defending champion, lost to Osterloh last year in a tournament in Tokyo.

``Right from the beginning of the match I was the weaker one on the court,'' Bedanova said. ``I just couldn't find the right weapon to fight her.''

Eighth-seeded Elena Bovina lost to Eleni Danilidou of Greece 1-6, 6-2, 2-6, and fifth-seeded Denisa Chladkova of Czech Republic beat Miroslava Vavrinec of Switzerland 6-2, 6-4.

Bianka Lamade of Germany eliminated Rita Kuti Kis of Hungary 6-3, 6-2; wild card Stanislava Hrozenska of Slovakia downed qualifier Greta Arn of Germany 0-6, 6-3, 6-3; and Marta Marrero of Spain topped Zuzana Ondraskova of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-2.
