Melbourne, AUS -- On a warm sunny day in Melbourne, a heavy-set Austrian teenager could be heard screaming as she struck another beautiful forehand past her practice partner. The girl, Tamira Paszek, had always dreamed of making it as a professional. She knew she was well on her way.
"I've always wanted to be a pro tennis player, every since I was three or four years old. This tour will guide me on that path, since I'm not old enough to be on the real thing yet. I know it's gonna be tough, but I'm ready to do whatever it takes to win. I want to be number one," Paszek said.
In the first event, Paszek will take on Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
