Giorgi in qualies while being ranked high enough for md entry? Meaning she signed in too late? Maybe wants to add this to her schedule in case she can’t travel to IW and Miami?
It makes sense. Since the vaccination mandate has been recently confirmed to enter USA, and she very likely not only is not vaccinated but also doesn’t want to be, a change of schedule seems likely

She was also told in Australia that if the Aus government was able to get confirmation about her falsifying her documents then should would be deported, therefore missing the Aus Open. She, she probably quickly signed up for Lyon in case.

She said in her press conference today that she had been vaccinated somewhere else (obviously by someone other than the doctor who has been accused of issuing fake documents), so that she's not the slightest bit worried.

She is INJURED. Her shoulder is I-N-J-U-R-E-D. She wore big tapes on her shoulder and joint during the match against NPD and also in the doubles.

There is no other reason. Let her rest and recover.
That’s odd because she never played Parrizas Diaz, not to mention hasn’t taken a single MTO for this supposed huge injury. Players have niggles and tapes all the time and she has two weeks to recover, let’s keep your know-it-allism a bit more quiet, at this rate you won’t last a month on here. :lol2:

Meant Vekic of course! My bad.
Here this Youtuber explains it pretty well what happened, and shows the injury:
The commentators from AUS Open also spent more time talking about her injury and struggle to serve and return. She is not a Krejcikova, Raducanu or Fruhvirtova - she would never take a MTO unless it's absolutely necessary to go on. She'd have to be half-dead or collapsing for her to call a MTO. That's just the person she is.

But she was not at 100%, she wouldn't have shown up with the shoulder strapped completely (further restricting her arm movement) if she was fit.

Yes, niggles and tapes are normal - but better be cautious than turn a few weeks break into something chronic that could last a whole year to recover from. Lyon WTA250 isn't the most important tournament this year in the grand scheme of things. I'm sure her doctors and coaches consulted her well.
