Lindsay is one of my favorite players. As a matter of fact V,S, Lindsay, and Jen are my favorite players but I have a ? about Lindsay. What was the big deal about her toe in the last couple of tournaments she played. I thought she was going to have surgery and now all of a sudden she's playing this week. That toe only bothers Lindsay when she is losing a match. Anyway, I truly hopes she or Jen wins this tournament. Well I was hoping the same thing or both of them at the US Open and what happended.....Jen choked.

Usually Lindsay is losing the match because of her toe. :)

Lindsay suffers from neuroma between two of her toes. I had almost the same thing. She has a boat load of points to defend in the next few weeks, so she's put of the op for a few weeks. She can't have anymore cortizone shots, so we have to hope that her matches are short and sweet, because her foot at this point could flare up at any moment. Poor thing.

Do you have any idea what causes neuroma? And exactly what is it, can you describe it any further. She has a boat load of points to defend but if the toe bothers her she can't defend them anyway so why not get the operation?

Kim is not in her half.. Although I'm sure Lindsay would rather be in that half..Lindsay is in the half with Henin.. Lindsay could probably beat the injured Clijsters..Hopefully she does well!

Sure. Neuroma can be spontaneous, as it was in my case, or more can be caused by your shoes. Neuroma is an inflimation of a nerve, in my case, as in Lindsay's it is between our toes. The pain is an off and on thing. Somedays it was ok, somedays it was really hard too walk. Putting added stress on it is never good. I'm not sure which surgury she is having. There are two options - one is when you remove the nerve from the top of your foot, which requires less recovery, or take it out from the bottom, which has a longer recovery but is more effective. I had the op on the top of my foot, because it wanted to get back playing ASAP. I've not had a problem since.

Maybe if Kim is injured, but if healthy I'd take her chances against Henin rather than Kim.

Not true. Davenport was struggling greatly with that foot in the Nathalie Dechy match at the French and the Nadia Petrova match at the US Open - two matches that she won - among others.

I would agree that Lindsay's chances are better against Henin than Clijsters. Simply because Clijsters is 8-1 in sets versus Lindsay this year, while Lindsay still has a 5-1 career edge over Henin-Hardenne. I'd think that she'd have more hope/belief/positivity against Justine rather than Kim who she can't beat anymore.
