In this thread we will put a list of players who have received warnings.

So a players gets a warning first but gets disqualified immediately if it happens for a 2nd time that a player is still on more than one Entry List once the Withdrawal deadline is over.
But after that the warning expires, so the player would get a warning again if it happens for a third time and at the 4th breach of the rule he would get disqualified again.

Also be aware of TT Code of Conduct.

Double commitment (player commits to two different tournaments in the same week):

Before the 1st deadline on Sunday, 6pm CET players can commit to any tournament, withdraw from there and commit to another tournament without being a LE.
After the 1st deadline players have 24 hours time to withdraw from events of their choice.
If the player is still on two different Entry Lists once the Withdrawal Deadline (Monday, 6pm CET/CEST) is over, the player receives an official warning from the TT board.
Is the infraction noticed before the tournaments start, only the first commitment will be valid and no punishment is applied.
If the double commitment is not noticed by anyone before the draws are made, points gained by the player in any of the two tournaments will not be considered and the player will be replaced with ALTs/LLs (only possible if the player didn´t win a round already in that tournament).

If a player, who received an official warning before, is again on two different Entry Lists once the Withdrawal deadline is over, then this player gets disqualified immediately and won´t be allowed to play any tournament in that week.
After that the warning expires and the user will receive a warning again before getting disqualified.
All warnings expire at the end of the year and all players will start from zero again once the new season starts with tournament 1.
TT Code of Conduct

1. General

1.1 TT is a game where the best standards of sportsmanship are expected.

1.2 This code of conduct is intended to raise awareness of acceptable behaviour in TT threads.

1.3 By entering into any tournament a player agrees to accept this code, whether or not he has actually read it.

1.4 The code will apply to all TT tournaments, including exhibitions and friendlies.

1.5 This code will take effect when the first tournament thread of the 2016 season is opened. It will then be subject to possible amendments.

1.6. The TT Board shall be responsible for the interpretation of this code, and for taking any action necessary under it, and their decision shall be final.

1.7 Where required by the context “he” shall be read as “he/she” and “player” shall be read as “player or players”

2. The Manager

2.1 The manager will be aware of the Time Zone for his tournament, and its relationship to CET/CEST

2.2 The manager will attempt to volunteer for tournaments which best fit in with his personal commitments.

2.3 Except in an emergency a manager will not manage more than one tournament in any week.

2.4 If opened in “skeleton” form the thread will be updated at least 2 days before the first deadline. In the meantime the manager will respond promptly to any queries by players/potential players.

2.5 The entry lists will be updated at least one day before the first deadline and at regular intervals thereafter.

2.6 The manager will publish the OOPs as soon as possible, and will attempt to give a window of at least 12 hours for the players to send picks.

2.7 The manager may delegate responsibility for posting the OOP to another person in order to achieve the 12 hour window.

2.8 The manager will usually aim to post differences within 1 hour of start of play (always after the deadline).

2.9 The manager will post results (updates for a 2 day round) as soon as possible.

2.10 In case of unfinished matches the manager will give full instructions regarding the sending of picks.

2.11 Where 2 rounds are played in one day, the manager will try to post differences for the second round when the results of the first are known, but he is not obliged to do so. If differences are not posted he will respond to players’ reasonable requests for information.

2.12 The manager will be familiar with the TT rules, particularly those governing tie-breaks, and will ask for advice if in doubt.

2.13 The manager will keep the first page of the thread updated, especially the draws and the OOP

2.14 If using the -Evita- Spreadsheet the manager will be responsible for its correct operation, and will be prepared to double-check any result on request.

2.15.The manager will treat all players impartially.

2.16 The manager will be courteous and considerate at all times, even when provoked.

2.17 The manager will be especially tolerant and helpful towards players new to Tennis Tipping.

3. The Players

3.1 The players should remember the one tournament per week rule, and their commitment should be clear, particularly in doubles.

3.2 Players are responsible for checking the entry lists and making sure their name is included in the draw.

3.3 Players will remember that the manager has a private life, and be prepared to be flexible when necessary.

3.4 Players may request OOPs, differences or results before the deadlines mentioned in this code, but must do so politely.

3.5 Players are free to criticize the manager, but must be specific and not make generalizations.

3.6 Players must not accuse the manager of laziness, incompetence or bias without clear and precise evidence.

3.7 Players must not personally abuse the manager, their opponents or any fellow player.

3.8 If a player breaches the code, the manager may, at his sole discretion, give the player a chance to retract before taking any action.

3.9 A separate thread in TT has been opened for disciplinary matters.

3.10 The TT board has the option to discipline players, who regularly break the rules of the Code of Conduct.
Players who are in at risk of discipline will receive an official warning before, method of discipline will be individual for each case and will be discussed by the board.

Never.

Can expire only when you get a second warning.

(maybe this will change)
Oh OK I had mmisread the rule.

But yes indeed it might be good to look at an expiry date for the warning, but I gues we have time to see how this system works out already :p

There are some people had mutiple commitments EVERY weeks.
I can't understand it all. If It happens sometime I can understand it but EVERYWEEK
With their ranking, player will know which their position in that tournament (Maindraw or Q or ALT) but I don't know why some players (ranking around 70) still make it EVERYWEEK :p.
Poor manager :p

that seems to be the main problem  and it's not a fault in the rules, it's the people

This is rediculous. We should get a better system instead.
Also, 24h is really short, what if you're busy at work and no time to check TF? You have to check multiple threads too, and often wait for EL updates.

Couldn't we automate this part?

24 hours is short? I don´t think so, it´s much more time than you have for sending picks and you can always check TF quickly before you sleep or whatever (if you have no time to withdraw within 24 hours then you also don´t have time to send picks)

However I do agree with the last parts, regular EL updates from all manages after the first deadline is a must but that is something we will take care of obviously.

We are giving people the chance to commit to more than one tournament and people do like that, as the poll showed but people also have to learn to follow the rules and the introduced warning system should help.

What about respecting managers' time as well?

Effy, I'm sorry, but where didn't i respect the manager's time? I complained about the warning system, not the manager. Also, I suggested to automate some (more) work for the manager.

That may be your opinion, but I think it's kind of short. The explanation is simple: You have to wait for the EL, so in fact it's much shorter than 24h if you want to make an informed decision. Also, the deadline of 18:00 CET (right?), is right in the end of my working day, so then I can't really spend too much time on this.

Your remark about picks is not relevant, because it's not the same. For picking I can often choose between timezones and some work better for me than others. Also, most mondays I don't even have to pick.

However I do agree with the last parts, regular EL updates from all manages after the first deadline is a must but that is something we will take care of obviously.
Thanks, but without automation, I am sceptical about this. The manager's don't really have extra time now that there are warnings, right?

We are giving people the chance to commit to more than one tournament and people do like that, as the poll showed but people also have to learn to follow the rules and the introduced warning system should help.
So, I think I forgot to withdraw one or two times in the past; this was because of a busy workday, not because I didn't care about the rules!

Question: Is there a real objection to making the withdrawal deadline 48h?

Re: Official Warnings for TT players

^^ well, the first deadline is always on Sunday, 6pm CET, so if you aren´t sure if you have time on Monday then withdraw immediately on Sunday, Sunday most people do not have to work, not sure how it is in your case but you never can satisfy 100% of the people with the rules, that´s obvious.

There were polls about the commitment rule/the 24 hours withdrawal deadline and the new warning system, the majority voted for it and everyone has to live with the results now, that´s how it works, sorry!
