Barbie is having a great year in doubles. She might change her mind.
True :p
But on the other hand Barbie is 33 yo now (soon 34).
Maybe she wants to have a family.
And many older players are tired of travelling.
Also she still has the whole year and some players want to leave on a high.
We will see ;)

(BTW Hsieh is also already 34 yo.)

Has Rybarikova announced she is retiring, I noticed she was listed as a doubles player for Fed Cup but the match was never played. However, I have not seen here in any draw since the US Open. Any word?

Not sure if Rybarikova will get to play another match (she was meant to retire after Fed Cup), same as King (after Charleston), so don't know if I should add them to the list yet...

Have added Fujiwara

2. Jessica Moore (AUS)

3. Ekaterina Makarova (RUS)

4. Maria Sharapova (RUS)

5. Johanna Larsson (SWE)

6. Rika Fujiwara (JPN)

A lot of players won't have enough money to come back. Really not sure what the ITF can do for someone like Shapatava ...
It highlights why the tour should introduce a minimum base rate which is common in many businesses that operate with performance pay models.
