Ugh, I managed to get tickets for RG women final but the experience was dreadful. Anyone else got anything?
I bet now Iga won't get through to the final because of me :toofunny:
But I'm super excited :bounce:
Still in the queue. :( Tough luck this year. Were many tickets left when you booked?

I think many will want to be there for the possibility of Nadal and Djokovic clashing again.
Yeah, but it's generally easier to get tickets for women's matches than men's. Still have hope, in roughly 30 minutes I should get into the shop.

Problem is they assign your place in the queue randomly so you don't know what you'll get. It's best if several people try so that increases your chances for better place in the queue. I'm going with a friend but unfortunately she didn't have time to do it today.

I f*** up with the login (one 0 too little) and by the time I realised there were only outside courts or premium. Didn't look at the earlier rounds as they are in the week and my husband can't take time off. Men's were sold out even for premium experience.
To @guitarra point - at 10.00am I was 11000 in the queue and got to the tickets 1hr later so kind of unfair.

Still waiting... I fear there will be no good spots left if at all when I get in.

As I said, nothing was left from 1/4 finals when I was there 3 hrs ago (only premium). It's the same shit that Olympics pulled. I got drawn 2 weeks in the process and all was left was uninteresting team events or premium seats for athletics close to 1k EUR.

Yeah, by the time I got in nothing was left basically... :(

If, by any chance, you can't go/ change your plans you can resell your tickets to me. ;)

This is a bit off-topic, but I recommend you to read the whole thread. Simon must be pissed Iga talked about the war during the trophy ceremony at RG. There must be much more going on behind the scenes that we don’t know of.
I support Daisy's recommendation, let's read the entire thread under Barbiani's tweet.
A quotation:

Last year during Roland Garros we tried to make a presentation, to show what horror is really happening in our homeland, how big a disaster it is. Tournament director Amélie Mauresmo immediately responded to our proposal, approved and promised to help. And when it came almost to the finish line, Simon showed up and forbade it. And there was no presentation.

If you have any comments. please post to the offtopic thread.
Read it, Kudermetova's coach words - terrifying but not surprising, read somewhere (can't remember where) than she's a stronger supporter of Putin but is smarter than Potapova and remains silent about it in public.

And everything that Steve Simon does is just disgraceful, gives me strong Infantino's vibes.

ATP doesn't want any discussion about the Ukraine invasion either:
On one hand, I understand that the organizations don't want to meddle in the politics, especially when there's armed conflict involved. On the other hand you can't really avoid it, and trying to purposefully suppress it can backfire in ways they are not prepared to handle.

Thanks. That's an eye-opening interview.
Łesia confirmed everything I've been suspecting: almost all Russian and Belarusian players support invasion on Ukraine or they don't mind. Disgusting. In order to be a human, you don't have to make a big banner and protest in front of cameras - few warm words in private mean a lot. But Russians haven't even sympathized with Ukrainians in private. No empathy, no compassion, no will to help. Nothing. Just silence. Silent approval of violence.

Steve Simon is officially piece of shit (at least for me). He gives a damn about Peng Shuai, but don't care about all Ukrainian tennis players and their families.
IW organizers have at least some decency to emphasize Ukrainian colors.

I hope Iga will keep supporting Ukrainians.

More on this topic. Have you seen this? Looks like now it's not even allowed to ask a question. I also hope that they finally upload Iga's press conference that they refer to here.

Notice how careful Iga was about not adressing Steve Simon's lack of empathy and consideration in Tsurenko's account of the conversaton, when she was asked about the situation. Putting the focus on supporting Ukrainian players lets her circumvent the WTA rules.
I know this is a serious topic, but I can’t help myself:

If she could she'd probably dragged him through the mud (verbally). This thing with French Open is also disgusting as Amelie already approved the presentation but he stopped it. Just shocking.

Well done to Daniil for answering, LOL at Indian Wells/WTA for censoring Iga's press conference, it will only give the issue more traction that they're trying to silence her.
Wta players are not allowed to criticize Steve Simon according to the code of conduct rules of the tour... if he really is stopping players from talking about war, kudos to Iga for using her status as world number one and locker room leader for defying it.

I wonder it such provisions are legal.
Let’s continue the discussion here.
