And I doubt they want to be around the LA area.

well, it depends on how fast they are willing to move on. personally i think that since they were pretty close, the mourning period would be longer. i mean, tennis is secondary.

i have feeling that one of them might come back, but i doubt both. they don't like playing each other at the best of times, so i would be shocked if they would have the competitive drive to want to come up against one another.

it would be nice if one of them won the title in LA for their sister. it would be very emotional

I'm sure, they'll come back as soon as possible : if it's possible, both will come back at Zurich (looking for a WIlliams-Williams finals for their dead sister Yetunde)

Not that this is anything to go by but Monica Seles played the French Open two weeks after her father died in 1998. I know the circumstances are different but tennis may be therapeutic.

Monica had a great tournament and reached the final beating Hingis easily along the way. No doubt she did it for her dad.

I don't expect too early a return by either Sister...but, I do believe that when they return they will be "a force to be reckoned" with...!!! Personally, I would want them to take as much time as "they" need, for grieving is such an individual process.

I think Venus & Serena will be back at the WTA Championships.

They are strong women.

They will want to show Los Angeles, and the World, that they will NOT be pushed down.

I agree with Persond, Venus & Serena take as long as you need!

Who knows - they may throw themselves into their work.... but that doesn't necessarily mean tennis.

Acting,designing, running a business or school are the other options.
