*1 Her last appearance on the rankings was 26 DEC 1994 (the week until 01 JAN 1995). We get exactly 1000 weeks assuming she wasn't out of the top 10 anytime from 1975-1983 (for which I have no weekly rankings).
*2 This is Shriver's top 10 weeks since 17 JAN 1983. Pam Shriver may have up to 110 weeks prior to that date.
*3 WTA database gives us 327 weeks. The WTA mediaguide, however, says she became top 10 the 5th of Dec 1983 which suggests 332 weeks.
*4 Hana Mandlikova has 285 weeks since 17 JAN 1983 according to the WTA database (rankings history). The year 1985 is incomplete though, so the real number could be less than that. However, Mandlíková may have up to 136 weeks before 17 JAN 1983.

This is an ongoing project. Unfortunately the WTA site doesn't have rankings before 1983. Furthermore there are incomplete years and some obvious errors (Goolagong # 1 in 1983, for instance). Therefore this is not a complete all-time list. But I've done my best to retrieve reliable data and hopefully it'll soon be possible to retrieve the correct weekly (fortnightly) rankings since 1975.

Here are all remaining top 10 players since 1975 - all left out because of insufficent or erroneous data:
Evonne Goolagong
Tracy Austin
Virginia Wade
Billie Jean King
Andrea Jaeger
Wendy Turnbull
Dianne Fromholtz Balestrat
Sue Barker
Rosie Casals
Margaret Court
Betty Stove
Mima Jausovec
Bettina Bunge
Olga Morozova
Kerry Melville Reid
Greer Stevens
Barbara Potter
Andrea Temesvari
Nancy Richey
Virginia Ruzici
Francoise Dürr
Kathy May
Sylvia Hanika
Kathy Jordan
Bonnie Gadusek
Carling Bassett-Seguso

Shocked that Suarez was only Top 10 for one week. I somehow remember her as being a low top ten seed at multiple slams, must be remembering wrong

Paola Suarez was seeded 12, 14, 9 & 13 at the four slams in 2004 (the year she had her one top 10 week), so I guess you remember correctly.

There may be interest in this spreadsheet I maintain

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WMoGzYrKlJ1NdWcUOAQ5n9yCH8JkVWI_/view?usp=sharing

My accumulation of all weeks of WTA top 10 since inception. Anything in black or brown print is a confirmed source. Anything in grey print is an extrapolation. The data is reasonably good after the first 3 years - very little data in the first 3 years. I have noted discrepancies among the sources in column M. There's a bunch of summary information in the top rows of the sheet.

All the colors and fonts etc mean something... if you're curious and it's not obvious, please ask me.

Great work, congrats. :)

Regarding summary columns AR, AS, AT (Wks #2 or #3), shouldn't Halep be there too, with 110 (55 #2 and 55 #3)?

I have a somewhat similar file too, with every player that's been in the Top10 since the official rankings started (3-Nov-1975) and number of weeks on each top10 position. It's based on the info from coric.top website, so it doesn't have data before January 17, 1983, but it's pretty good for players who reached Top10 after that date.

Very impressive stat for Simona - likely she will take over Conchita and Lindsay at this point too.
It's not a question of likely anymore, she's got 20+ weeks before her Wimbledon points drop and thanks to the AO semifinal she now has enought points to remain inside the top 10 at the very least until July. She could stop playing for the rest of the year and still overtake Lindsay.

Exactly, and with a typical clay season she should be fine for the rest of the year. The question is where does she ends. To overcome Mandlikova and Sánchez Vicario she would have to be there till late 2021/early 2022, then Shriver by the end of that season and Gaby at last by the end of 2023 (the rest is out of the picture). How many more years does she have? I don´t see her playing past 2024 (olympics at RG). Will she remain as consistent as she is now by then? Will she avoid big injuries?
