Wow, that's a lot of work done to discover that either Meghann goes ballistic, or God personally smites all the remaining top 10 players to help Maggie, Elena, Amanda, or Iroda.
New top ten players after OZ?
The chances of this have already gotten very small. Even if you get max quality points, it's hard to gain more than 1200 points at a GS. Monica Seles has about 2200 points now. The player have alreayd played a few rounds, so they can only get about another 1000 maximum. So any player with 1200 points or more could theoretically make the top ten. Here's who's left.

10 2186 Monica is likely to beat Ana Isabel Medina Garrigues. So she'll have around 2300 points gong into the Clash of the Titans.
11 1949 M.SHAUGHNESSY - Has to go a round better than Monica and make the semis to be ahead of Monica. She plays Mauresmo in the 4th, Capriati in the QF's. Needs Venus to beat Monica.
14 1688 M.MALEEVA - She's 500 points behind Monica. 1100 behaind Jelena. Jelena is out of reach. Monica is not. But only if Maggie actually wins the tournament, or Monica loses in the 4th round to Ana Isabel Medina Garrigues. Then Maggie can make the top ten but just making the final.

Well congrats volcana for such a work.......but there's almost no chance any of the top10-20 makes the top10 after AO!!

I really would have thought that, in a GS tournament with three members of the top tennot playing, we'd see more movement.

Yes, we should, except that in recent years the big gap in ranking points has been somewhere near the bottom of the top 5. Currently the top 9 are very bunched up with similar totals, and Monica, the #10, had a good margin on #11 and a favourable seeding.

Actually...with the new points distribution 1200 is about the least a player can get winning a grand slam , the average range right now would probably be 1200-1400 pts ....the distribution can be found at tenniscorner.net
