All of Elena's abuse comes from the fuming Iga stans from this forum. 🙊

How does Pegula make it on that list? This is pretty normal though, for NBA Lebron would get it and for boxing it was Mayweather.

Elena uses Instagram, Twitter she has a dormant account so they must be counting keywords.

It would be more indicative if they used absolute numbers as well as percentages don't always tell the full story.

And they're all top 6 in the WTA rankings too.

Some girls just hate Elena because she's just much more beautiful than them

Some men just hate Sabalenka because she's just much more handsome than them

Some people hate Pegula because she's just much richer than them

Also, these girls keep destroying their favorite players, sometimes very badly

Anyway, success brings haters and criticism. Jealousy is indeed a disease

Using AI technology Bodyguard, comments that players receive on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter and TikTok will be moderated in realtime with responses analysed in less than 200 milliseconds.
Welcome to the brave new world.

They already use this technology to censor political content on social media.

Some messages are suppressed while other peddled for more wide circulation.

The only notable one for me is Sabalenka, but her following is increasing and she is being talked about a lot so its a sign of increasing popularity and relevance.

Generally the girls get it easy compared to other sports where the neagtive sentiment is around 25 percent for the top players.

I don’t think so. OTOH you’re milking these wins over injured Iga so much that you must have opened a dairy farm by now. You know that you don’t need that much milk to make Pie, right cake?

Sabs positive / negative ratio is understandable.

Both twitter and facebook are banned in Russia, so a big chunk of positive sentiments eliminated by this.

On the other hand, many current tennis-active countries are extremely anti-russian and anti-belarussian, namely Poland and Czechia, also UK, so the number of negative reactions is bigger than average.

How many of the hateful comments are triggered by gamblers who have lost? I honestly can’t see how anyone could dislike these girls, based on their behaviours. They all seem to be genuine souls, trying to cope with a stressful career in the public eye, doing the best they can and totally undeserving of hateful comments. Certainly an opinion on their performance on court is acceptable but never personal attacks. Gambling is the only thing I can think of that would provoke nasty comments.

Clearly they only did measurements of the top 6, that is just too ridiculous a stat suggesting these are the six most abused players on twitter especially when on considers these six seem to be the only players they actually have stats on.

Note also for the men it is the top 5 players plus Cameron Norrie. I am guessing Norrie got included in this because the researchers must have been Brits.

Okay, so what do these stats tell us? They tell us Sabalenka is likely the most abused player in the top 6. That is all they tells us. And given how lazy these stats appear to be I'd even take that with a grain of salt.

Rybakina isn't even on Twitter, glitch in the system ?

The worst abuse is on Instagram from the gamblers who make horrible threats.

How is this AI going to work exactly?

You can much pretty ignore the stats provided. Bard is not good enough to do sentiment analysis. Still need a human in the loop to do reliable sentiment analysis.

Independent online sports and betting guide World Sports Network, asked Google Bard to analyse tweets from January 2022 until May 2023. Bard gathered data from social listening tool Tweet Binder, the Twitter API and studies carried out by the University of Belgrade to provide a snapshot of the current sentiment on Twitter.

Best Ways to avoid "Social Media Abuse"
1) Win when expected...
2) Don't lose to scrubs as big chalk...
3) Don't piss off Gamblers..
TL;DR - DON'T Be Prideless!

In answer to the question in red above ^, I'd say at least 95% of the nasty comments come from gamblers. Likely even more than 95%.
The now unfortunately ubiquitous presence of gambling will only make this situation worse and worse, sadly.

Getting AI to help with this is laughable. The vile, vulgar comments is a problem that technology itself created - because everyone is desperate for their 15 MONTHS of 'fame'. Asking technology to also solve the problem is akin to a dog chasing his tail - it will just go around and around, without any actual, viable solution to be had.

Nice...percantages, RAW numbers wpuld be cool. 5% out of 1M is not same as 10% out of 100k. Simple as that.
