Interesting article on the player who won RG after having two children, the woman who answered the call of de Gaulle to join the Free French and headed the women's volunteers for them, marched up the Champs Elysees with him at the Liberation and also umpired the Liberation match at RG between Petra and Cochet afterwards.

Townsend entered history winning the first point there, Muguruza too by winning the first match



they're having an official ceremony on court now to inaugurate it . Pierce and Durr are attending it.

Nice honor and acknowledgement for Simonne Mathieu :worship: very nice that the French Open give their court the names of their female champions (Suzanne Lengen and now Simonne Mathieu) :yeah:
