Long Beach St. schedule

tbd

No board will ban someone for noticing 2 people resemble each other especially when they actually do look a-like. :nerner:

Rob and Form you two need to lighten up. Look a-like posts could be some of the funniest posts ever. I know I laughed really hard and long when I put up the 2 pics next to each other and was looking at the uncanny resemblance. :haha:  :haha:  That was the best laugh I've had in a long while.

Usually when someone is compared to a beauty pageant contestant that's taken as a compliment. I guess it would only be seen offensive if Rob and Form are NOT proud of their Miss Downtown Long Beach 2012. She made history by being the first openly lesbian contestant in the long history of the Miss USA California pageant. Long Beach has a large gay and lesbian population according to her so Rob and Form you two need to stop being offended by someone that's representing your very own Long Beach community.

I also noticed this.

The Long Beach St. tennis head coach is named Jenny Hilt-Costello with the initials J.H.

Miss Downtown Long Beach 2012 is named Jenelle Hutcherson with the initials J.H.

So not only are these 2 women living in Long Beach, but they also look a-like and have the same initials. The similarities are getting funnier and funnier. :haha:  :haha:

Gouci is both delusional and spiteful. Having said that, if he really thinks that any team from the BWC is top 16 caliber then his overall knowledge level of women's collegiate D-1 tennis is no better than his mistaken beliefs about the superbness of his team and his CHEater coach, Mr. Mike Edles:sad:
When the LBS women beat your CHEaters at the BWC tournament you will disappear once gain, just like you do each year after that miserabale excuse for a WVB team performs in their usual, miserable way under another UCI coach who is a legend in HER own mind and as her team SUCKS each year...:help::help::help:
Alaskan's ugliness comes out.

Simon Thibodeau Named UCSB Head Coach

Wow Thibodeau is taking a step down in budget and it's going to be much harder to get freshmen admitted academically.

On the other hand it's easier to sell UCSB and he probably has job security until he retires. ;)

Charlotte Scatliffe, who guided the team through the 2012 season on an interim basis, will remain in the program as an assistant coach.

First the coach from Nevada, entering the MWC, leaves for San Jose St. Then the Wyoming coach leaves for SMU. Now the coach from Fresno St., also entering the MWC, leaves for UCSB. So no one wants to coach in the new Mountain West? :oh:

San Jose is probably joining the Mountain West so the former Nevada coach ironically ends up in the same conference as the team he left.

Re: Big West - 2012-13

Big West price of tennis going UP... just as budgets going down. Tibodeau is a hustler... and expects high level tennis (5 Sweet 16's)... but also don't forget he once had a match result overturned versus USC because he stacked and USC won the protest.

Now we have two coaches that can't keep players in order of ability.... someone call the ethics police.

UCSB will get better... if not this year than in 2014 when he has time to truly recruit. I bet money they will go more int'l. (Canadian for sure...)

I wonder if there will be a culture clash. With stories of laid back surfer lifestyles, will they need a coach like Guga Kuerten's ?

Re: Big West - 2012-13

2nd_serve I wonder how Tibodeau's hiring affects Long Beach State's recruiting pipeline. International players who picked LBS over Fresno St. in the past because of location may now be heading to UCSB under Tibodeau? :oh:

I would think speaking French may help Tibodeau recruit the next Anais Dallara away from Long Beach St. :help: With LBS no longer being able to dip into the 21 year old freshman pool and UCSB moving ahead of the 49ers in the recruiting totem pole LBS slips to middle of the pack.

Re: Big West - 2012-13

Well Gouci, I thought the resolution about UCI allegation was showing that the accusers failure to understand the rules rather than a lack of evidence. But yes, for sure the coach was cleared and won awards for his coaching.

And the 25 year old player example is good to show that the cost of information on which international players are worth recruiting will rise.

Re: Big West - 2012-13

25 YEAR OLD: Cracks me up... Chen was there in 97 & 98 (15 years ago)... was recruited and coached by the head coach before the current LB coach. Hey, UCI even beat LB regularly way back then before LB coach had recruited her first class for 1999.

THE OTHER chEATER: Let's get the facts straight here because someone is claming their innocence like OJ Simpson does. Found NOT GUILTY is not saying you are INNOCENT.

I recently asked and received more detail on 2010. The UCSB protest after their 4-3 semi final loss of UCI roster was turned down because:

a) BW did not have a rule in place to reverse/hear a protest on approved line up after the conference call. The UCI coach was specifically asked about the health of Ms. Hammel and failed to disclose she was playing in a cast on her forehand. He actually tried to place her at # 2... but admitted she was not playing as well as Smith or Bisharat. AND STOPPED. No additional info about not playing as well as ANYONE because she only had ONE 'off' HAND.

b) The UCSB protest was apparently poorly written... failed to site the correct rule. The BW turned it down because it protested the wrong thing.

c) Since the BW had no rule to reverse the UCI coaches unethical description of his player, LB was not able to protest after discussion made it apparent the BW could not overturn the previously approved line up before Hammel's SLOT MACHINE STATUS had come to light.

NOTE: That tournament protest rule has since been voted in... so BW has ability to hear a line up protest if additional info comes to light (like a kid shows up short a limb). I was also told A coach did not vote for the new rule. :tape::banghead::haha::spit: 17-1-1*

UCSB IMPACT TO PIPELINES... CALIF GIRLS:
Actually, the recruiting PIPELINE that is going to get hurt by a stronger tennis coach at UCSB is the chEATERS. Kids considering LB State are not generally on the UC path anyway. Look at all thos CA girls that choose UCI, UCD or UCSB. But those CA girls going to UCI are going to really be intrigued by an improved tennis program (and potentially more scholarship money) at UCSB.

The only thing that could impact LB is funding if the CSU's get hit any harder. :(

Mark my words, this will hit UCI long before it hits LB State in 'recruiting' impact. Of course, an improved UCSB could impact LB's league title count in the future... since it really can only go sideways or downward after after pounding the poor chEater coach each year for a decade. :bounce:

What will be fun is starting a betting pool on the UCI vs UCSB line ups? Set by dart board or chess table?

And yes, there is gonna be a bigger culture shock next season in Goleta on the tennis courts. These players may not be on the same 'interest' and 'work ethic' level as this highly motivated coach.

Re: Big West - 2012-13

Wow GOuci, such a harsh reply to my correct assesment of your great WT Coach's ability:wavey: compile a winning record over the vaunted ladies of LBS!
Maybe the next really deep hole that we drill up here will be deep enough to fit all of the lying excuses that you have for Mr. Edles' conduct....:bounce::eek::lol:

Re: Big West - 2012-13

^never gets old

Alison Klein, who goes to UCI made a huge upset in dbls at So. Cal Sectional;

With Marion Bouillin they beat Krems/Stratman, 5th seed, by 06, 75, 10(8)
Thanks for the update fantic. :worship:

UCI has had success in the past finding doubles specialists from the San Diego area in Lisa Shih and Hannah Holladay.

Maybe Alison Klein will be the next one? :bounce:

Maybe Marion Bouillin should walk-on at UCI too for 2013-14 :cheer: and the team of Klein/Bouillin can be reunited. UCI could always use more good doubles players.
