yes@guichard if any of the current top8 seeds withdraw, will Emma directly take their place in the draw ?
So if a seed withdrew now, Emma would get a bye and would play either Kanepi or Osaka
Hmm, so hypothetically ... if Sabalenka (6) withdrew, would Pegula (7) take her place in the draw, Muguruza (8) take Pegula's place in the draw, and Emma (9) take Muguruza's original spot?
Hmm depending on who it was who withdrew I'm not sure Emma would prefer moving to their part of the draw. 😂
Yikes. So if a seed withdrew now, Emma would get a bye and would play either Kanepi or Osaka
No I don't think so, I think it would be a direct swap.Hmm, so hypothetically ... if Sabalenka (6) withdrew, would Pegula (7) take her place in the draw, Muguruza (8) take Pegula's place in the draw, and Emma (9) take Muguruza's original spot?
Just Emma will be moved. Emma takes Sabalenka's spot then next player eligible to be seeded takes Emma;s spotHmm, so hypothetically ... if Sabalenka (6) withdrew, would Pegula (7) take her place in the draw, Muguruza (8) take Pegula's place in the draw, and Emma (9) take Muguruza's original spot?
If so, I'd rather that not happen.![]()
Yeah. Sabalenka’s spot would be good.Just Emma will be moved. Emma takes Sabalenka's spot then next player eligible to be seeded takes Emma;s spot
Where are you getting this info?
Oh, in that case, Emma would play either SST or a qualifierYikes.
But if Sabalenka withdraws, Emma would take her place, not Mugu’s
We'll find out in the next 48 hoursI don't think Saba will w/d. Her "injury" seemed sus.
Okay, here is where we draw the line...@Ellentonboy will be so delighted with this draw! 😀
Harriet Dart beat her in 3 sets during the grass season, and Korpatsch beat her in Stuttgart, so she's not infallible by any means. She quite a big hitter, but she does have a lot of days where she's not quite at her best, and Emma will probably hope for one of those.I am a bit disappointed with the draw. So many qalifiers or players that are not dangerous at the moment like Kenin, Stephens, or even Serena and Venus, some qualifiers or clay specialists. Giorgi is defending champion so for sure she will fight hard. However it's 50/50 I think.
A few hours have passed since the draw and I've reflected a bit more on it. Bottom line now, I'm not happy with it. I friggin' love Camila too, but obviously my loyalty is to Emma first and foremost. Doesn't mean I have to like this Round 1 encounter.Okay, here is where we draw the line.... No it is fine, let the better player win!
