Good luck, Nadia! :bounce:

Well done, Nadia & Bethanie!

Are there any Petrova fans here who have a facebook? You should all join me at the Nadia Petrova Fan Club. This way we can maybe motivate Nadia a little bit. :D

Re: MPS Group Championships - Ponte Vedra Beach

Petrova, who won this event when it was held in Amelia Island in 2006 and was runner-up in 2007, had little trouble with 14-year-old American phenom Madison Keys, who won her Sony Ericsson WTA Tour debut match Monday. The Russian's 63 62 victory set up a showdown with seventh-seeded Alona Bondarenko, who edged her sister, Kateryna, 46 64 63.

Go beat Bondarenko now!!! :bounce:

Re: MPS Group Championships - Ponte Vedra Beach

I don't know if it was due to the weather or injury, but Nadia was seriously struggling on her serve. I'm hoping it was weather related. At the moment, I just feel like there are so many things wrong with Nadia's game. I really hope that she can win the title. She needs the confidence boost.

Re: MPS Group Championships - Ponte Vedra Beach

I got see Nadia's semifinal match over the weekend. Unfortunately, things are not looking very promising at the moment. I will give her credit for reaching the semis despite playing sub-par tennis.

Corina Morariu & Leif Shiras were providing the commentary, and they got into an in-depth discussion regarding Nadia's current "problems." Anyways, they didn't sound too positive about Nadia's current state of mind. They almost threw out the dreaded "R" word.

Her current coach is quite intense, and I like that. I don't necessarily think he's doing a great job fixing the technical aspects of Nadia's game, but he sure does try to make Nadia a much more positive person on the court.

I'm not overly upset that she lost this match. I understand that it was only her second tournament since her return. Instead, I'm disappointed at how much Nadia has allowed her game to just fall apart. Now that Henin has retired, Nadia should be the clay-court queen. I know she has the game, but I can't understand why she doesn't have the belief.

Hopefully she can take it two steps further in Charleston. The draw gods were kind to her, and she will have an opportunity to avenge her loss to Wozniak.
