Anisimova and Vondrousova if nothing goes wrong will be grat players in the future. Their ascension is one of the best outcomes this RG could have. Barty's win is for sure better than a Key's.

As much as I like Radwanska, her time at the top was one of the worst periods of the WTA. Together with Masha and Azarenka, really dark times. At least now we can see a light at the end of the tunnel

Anisimova and Vondrousova have potential to be champions for a long, long time. It’s nice that two players with good games and potential EXPOSED the “top” players for what they really are.

“Random” maybe, but certainly not “irrelevant” when two teens storm into the semis as these two did.

Well, it is a hilarious line-up AT THIS POINT. But there are chances that Vondrousova and especially Anisimova will be having great careers and some day we will look back at this year's SF line-up and wouldn't be surprised at all to see these names there.

Konta and Barty are both very good players that are/have been Top 10 players. Still weird to see them here, especially because this is clay.

I agree that maybe one or two big names are missing but having to teenagers there is definitely very interesting.

Konta, Animisova, Barty, Vondrousova

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I miss the days when top players (hingis, venus, serena, maria, henin, capriati, clijsters... then maria, aga, vika, caro...) always went far in slams
Do you know what irrelevant means?? Like, there's 2 teenagers in the SEMIS....they are the future of our sport. How on earth could they be irrelevant ?

US OPEN /OA: Osaka
Wuhan : Sabalenka
Elite trophy/Miami : Barty
Dubai:Bencic
Indian wells :Andreescu.

The problem is that you didn't understand that the last decade wasn't the best generation of the wome tennis and that:

FUTURE IS COMING TO SAVE WTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:wavey:

WTA is just way too random. All the supposed top players (Halep, Pliskova, Osaka, Angie etc.) can go out in any round against any opponent and nobody will be surprised. No continuity and rivalvries on tour makes it hard to enjoy it.

Fully agree on this observation. Ostapenko winning here two years ago might turn out to be a much bigger shock in retrospect. I kinda expected Stephens or Muguruza instead of Konta in the SF though. Anyways, many of these players do not have the biggest of names, it might be a hard sell for tickets.

Anisimova and Vondrousova are the future, they are still teenagers and having her Slam breakthrough here is great to see.
Was Osaka irrelevant too when she reached SF in last US Open?

Barty is actually a top player, finally will be where she belongs in ranking and her game suits clay.
Konta is odd but she has been a top 10 player and GS Semifinalist twice already.

Someone please post the Stephens 'that is so disrespectful' gif.

We've got two teens and another youngster. Outside of Konta, these are all guaranteed future champions. And one of the 4 will be crowned a champion on Saturday. The youngsters are coming.
