Hey admins :wavey:

Daniela's forum is in need of a mod, and the consensus within the forum is making Mandy7 a mod. There was a poll made a month ago about this issue.

http://www.tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=362793

So it is possible to grant the forum a mod? :D

Edit: 9 of the "No" votes in the poll are made by the same person, 2 by people who dont post in the forum at all, so that leaves 3 no votes from posters in the forum. :p

Normal procedure is that you show first why a mod is needed specifically for that forum. Are there any specific problems within the forum that are not being tackled now with the appointed mod no longer posting there?

If it is agreed a mod is needed, we can determine who to appoint.

Can you change the law so that we require a dozen photos of Mandy in her bikini first please

I have two things to say on this matter - that I have previously said to others that have approached me regarding either appointing or dethroning their current forum moderator:

1. If you want to demonstrate that your forum needs moderation - or that you current moderator is not managing the forum adequately - all of you need to report posts regularly.

It is the best way to objectively demonstrate to those of us that don't come into your forum that there are issues which aren't being addressed. Otherwise, we are relatively oblivious.

2. If your forum clearly demonstrates it needs a new moderator then there will be a open announcement but a private application system like we had earlier this year for GM / Non-tennis / Russian Roulette moderators.

You cannot elect your own moderator by a public poll.

The reasoning for this is that being the forum moderator is nothing to do with popularity though obviously it would need to be someone that regularly posts in and uses the relevant forum. We take into account previous poster reprimands, general opinion, look through their more recent posts etc. The person chosen needs to have demonstrated that they are willing to make unpopular decisions if necessary and they are willing to demonstrate exemplary conduct wherever else they post on the board beforehand, not at the time of the appointment.

If I'm making it look a rather unattractive prospect, that's because it is. Having said that, you do have the chance to try to make the forum run better and listen to my constant moaning in the moderator forum so it's not all bad :).

Yes that forum desperately needs a mod. I'm scared to even enter it actually. :sobbing:

^ Well that's one good argument against giving them a moderator.

Anyway, I'm closing this thread now as I think my previous post has covered what the administration's current view is and how you can influence it in the future.

If any of you have more to add, feel free to contact me to re-open this discussion.

Similarly if there is a change of view from the administration, I will post it in this thread or in the relevant forum.
