Well between this year's Wimbledon and 2010's US Open, Venus has gotten me excited at the fact she should play Mixed....but she doesn't go through with it. So anyways, I want to post this thread for when she does play Mixed, we can see results and pics of past partnerships.

Missing partnership pics from 1997 Wimbledon, 2000 WTT, 2005 WTTx2.

Nice Quotes About Venus
Knowles - "It was probably the most fun I've ever had on a doubles court," Knowles said after he and Williams lost to Olivier Rochus and Kim Clijsters 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 in the third round.
"She was an amazing partner. Obviously, it was the first time we played together, and it was kind of bittersweet for me. I didn't really want us to lose because I immensely enjoyed playing with her."
Knowles has won 37 doubles titles, including the 2002 Australian Open and 2004 U.S. Open with Daniel Nestor. He approached Williams last year, but she wasn't fit enough to play.
Knowles said he hopes they will team up again, possibly at the U.S. Open.
"She has a great personality. She's really funny," Knowles said. "Not only was the tennis a thrill, but just being on the court with her and soaking up the whole atmosphere. She's one of the true legends of the game."

Venus Quotes
"It's hard to pick one ideal partner, but either of the Bryans would be great of course. I played with Leander Paes in World TeamTennis this summer and his return and his hands are incredible. John Isner is another one who I think would make a great mixed doubles partner. His serve is huge and he covers the whole net in one step!"

About choosing Gimelstob - "I needed to play with someone with similar height so I can feel comfortable," said Venus, who is 6-foot-1 1/2. "And the other person would also feel comfortable and not lose confidence or any manhood."

Wow what a thread! :worship:

I had no idea Venus played with Robbie Koenig once

Uranium, what is it about doubles, mixed especially, that appeals to you so much?
I like doubles and mixed. In respect to Venus, I like her playing with Serena BUT I have been against Serenus lately. However, I have fully supported Venus to play Mixed because it is less effort and since she needs to win Wimbledon and US Open. You don't hear me saying she should play AO and RG Mixed, just Wimbledon and US Open to complete the Career Slam. And Doubles, I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I want Venus to do great things in singles, but on the other I want them to win the Doubles YEC and that requires a few great doubles results.

So my support for Venus to play doubles and Mixed is for her to win things she is missing.

Uranium, what a thread!!! You've outdone yourself once again. :worship:

 @ the chest bump between Venus and Bob Bryan :haha:
Thanks. And now my favorite part. Partner choice discussions:hearts:

Now there are about 10 guys that are the best of the best in regards to Mixed Doubles.

1. Bob Bryan - can win with anyone. 7 slams. (0-2-1-4). Venus and Bob played awesome together and great chemistry during 2006 Wimbledon.
2. Leander Paes - great doubles player. 6 slams. (2-0-3-1). Leander has said during WTT that he would love to play with Venus for Slams.
3. John Isner - No slams in doubles or Mixed, but with that serve, there is no way he will be broken whether in Wimbledon with the regular scoring or the US Open's No AD scoring. And then his presence at net will make it easy for Venus to hold too. This could be a great pairing.
4. Max Mirnyi - Won 2 slams with Serena. 3 slams. (0-0-1-2). Won 2 slams with Baby Sister Serena and played with Venus in 2004 Hong Kong. Max's power game could be good for the 2 fast slams missing in Vee's collection.
5. Daniel Nestor - Good doubles player, pretty good Mixed results. (2-0-0-0). He has done EVERYTHING in Men's Doubles, but not so much in Mixed. He and Vee did well together in WTT, Righty-Lefty combo could be great for title chances.
6. Andy Ram - Beat Venus at 2006 Wimbledon, good results. (0-1-1-0). Andy is a great Mixed player with a lot of power, just what Venus needs.
7. Mahesh Bhupathi - Only active male with the career slam. 8 slams (2-2-2-2).
8. Nenad Zimonjic - Great mixed partner. 4 slams (2-2-0-0). Big serving Serb and Big serving Vee could be a great team.
9. Mark Knowles - Played with Venus before, good partner. (0-0-1-0). Played with Venus, but his level has dropped lately.
10. Mike Bryan - Fantastic mixed partner, but rarely plays Mixed anymore. (0-1-0-1). Hasn't done well in Mixed lately, plus is also an AD side player.

For some reason i like Mark Knowles. I would also like Vee to play with Tursunov. He has a good sense of humour and they would have a lot of fun.. I would fly to Perth if V ever decided to play the Hopman Cup. I love the mixed doubles as long as it doesn't hinder her singles campaign.....
