What do you guys think? Will 2018 be last season for Miki? It will depend on results of course.

Is it possible she debuts at Olympics at age of 38 in Tokyo?
I am fairly confident this will be her last year.

Major rankings drop likely in January. She could fall as low as #80
Yes, if she wins no matches in her Australian swing, she would drop to about #80.

I doubt that will happen, however.

I would like to see another slma run, not too worried about her ranking and defending all her points.

One possibility is that she will retire once she can no longer gain direct entry into the Grand Slam main draws.

For the French Open, she needs to earn about 275 points between now and mid-April. She'll need a couple of good results for that.
I think she'll do enough to get direct entry to the French Open.

If she doesn't, Yes, she may quit right then.

Barring injury I think she'll make it through the year.

Her level is still at least top 30-50 based on what I saw the other night.

I read somewhere that she should earn around 270 points for Roland Garros MD. Last week to get points is week of Lugano/Bogota.

She will have more than few chances, but all at big tournaments (Doha, Dubai, IW, Miami, potentially Charleston).

She can always make it to Wimbledon MD 4 weeks later or US Open few months later.
