Hello sunnybird, are you going this year? 😃

I guess an advantage of being a small bird is that you can just fly into the stands of whatever court you want without paying! 🐦
Hi aca99da,
I attended quite a few professional golf tournaments in the past. But, last year, I decided to experience what it feels like to attend a professional tennis tournament for the first time and see players up close. It was very different from attending golf tournaments! I "religiously" went to the Hard Rock Stadium for two weeks and was there from 10 am to 9-10 pm, especially in the first week. But, at times, it felt like going to work a full day. However, I really enjoyed the experience and learned a lot about tennis. I saw Emma in one of the practice courts and the center court. Once I tasted what it's like to attend a tennis tournament in person. I concluded watching tennis matches on Tennis Channel(or TC+) would be more than enough for me, although I would love to attend the US Open or Wimbledon someday. But perhaps too many hassles for me to make the trips. Now I am enjoying watching tennis tournaments on TC or TC+ while reading delightful/informative inputs from EE members. So I am quite content atm!

Let’s hope she avoids the top ten in R2 assuming she gets that far but especially Swiatek, Rybakina, Sabalenka and Krejikova (not top ten but should be). Big hitters like Samsonova would also be tricky R2 opponents.
That's right. Emma has always struggled with the big hitters. Barty can neutralize big hitters by using her slice. I love to see Emma work on how to neutralize these big hitters.

Hopefully that’s something she’s been working on. She did pretty well against Ostapenko in Seoul which is surely a sign of progress.

Emma vs BBB is not a worry for me as much anymore, Emma has added 10 mph to her ground strokes and can hit hard enough that its not easy to bash. Her average FH and BH was not too different to Sabalenka against BHM.

So if Miami is really a faster court, then the big servers are the main threat I would think.

I'll be watching a lot of quallies for Miami so should be a good gauge of how the courts will play, intrested to see the bounce as well. With these bigger tournaments you can at least make reasonable assumptions after a few matches. Unlike Ostrava where some matches are played on a stadium hardcourt and other matches are played on Mezzanine.
