If she's healthy and plays a couple tournaments prior to the Fed Cup matches I don't see why not. Clay has always been one of her favorite surfaces so another specialist can only help down in Buenos Aires.
I can't imagine her doing so, but maybe, but I would have thought she just wants to get playing again without any pressure and injury-free.
It has always baffled me her French connection. I mean I know that her mother is French-born and that Jim Pierce wanted the French Federation to look after Mary because they offered a better deal, and she spent some time in France as a teenager. But to everyone she is clearly American/Canadian and you would not knwo she was French from Adam!! It befuddles me when the TV commentators say the "27 year-old Frenchwoman". It just doesn't sound right, and is even more baffling than Greg Rudseski's claim to be British.
Tatiana... the USTA outright refused to support Mary... probably the biggest mistake they ever made. The French gave their support. I think that's why Mary, no matter how American she probably feels, still plays for France. They were there for her when she needed help, so she will probably continue to play for them.
Yes she said in an interview that she would like to play again for France but this won't happen in the first round. Forget said she had to be healthy again before coming back and that she needs time. He already said that Mauresmo and Testud will be there if fit.
