The Juniors


Getting Detailed results of Martina's Junior Career has been almost impossible on my part...The best I could come up with is a few facts and some tidbits of info.....


Martina won 5 Junior Grandslam Titles..No surprise really, except

Where 3 of them were won

*1993 French Open Girls Singles

*1994 French Open Girls Singles

*1994 French Open Girls Doubles

*1994 Wimbledon Girls Singles

*1994 U.S Open Girls Doubles Champion


*Martina finished 1994 the number 1 Junior in the world.

*1993 Wimbledon Semi-Finalist in Girls Singles and Doubles

*1993 French Open Girls Doubles Quarter-Finalists

*1994 U.S Open Girls Singles Runners up

A Few Tidbits of "Our Martina"

*Born 30th September 1980

*Named after Martina Navratilova, who incidently was named after the "Chateau Martina", The place of her conception

*Began Skiing at 2

*Player her first Tournament Aged 4

*At Aged 9 she won a Tournament Left Handed as she had injured her right hand

*Defeated Anna Kournikova 6-0 6-0 in the 1994 U.S Open Girls singles

*Contrary to Popular believe, Martina Hingis won her first ever professional title in her first ever proffessional tournament, ITF Women's Circuit satellite tournament in Langenthal, Switzerland(October 1993).



Tomorrow, we will begin a detailed trip into the professional career of "Our Martina" :)

If we can, I would like it if any additional details are kept to where we are up to in Martina's Career...My idea is this could be a on-going thread for as long as we are around, as her career will continuely change :)
