Martina Navratilova says that nobody how hard she tried she was not loved by French

Interesting conversation that she is having with Carillo right now on TTC. She said that she felt loved everywhere else but in France and that she felt that the French do not deal well with strong women. I have to say that I think she may be right. France seems to idolize ultrafemininity which is not Martina by any means. I met a French lady recently who resembled Amelie Mauresmo quite a bit and I mentioned this to her in a nice way. Her response was "Oh my god no. She is a very masculine lesbian":rolleyes: I really think on the other hand that Amelie Mauresmo was well-liked mostly there but she did not handle the pressure well. Justine Henin and Francesca Schiavone are pretty butch but well admired there.
