Marina Erakovic has announced her retirement with a video:

:sad: I'm gutted tbh, easily the retirement that affects me the most this year.
Even the good-bye is so peculiar with such a video, what a character. What upsets me the most is she barely played at all these last years and there was alway hope to see her back in top form.

One of the nicer players with a mental blockage to stop her reaching her full potential.

Goodbye

Was kind of hoping she would make one more comeback but it was getting more and more unlikely of course.Nice retirement video from a really nice player.:)

Should really have achieved more but then you can say that for many players I suppose.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sobbing: :sobbing: :sobbing:

Marina!!! She had an excellent grass court game.. Should have won more titles, both in singles and doubles. Probably should have beat Robson in the third round of wimbledon that one time.. Such a fun personality and a talented muscian to boot! Wishing her all the best...

Pssst, who will be the no.1 Kiwi now??:confused:

Shout out to her number 1 fan @The Walking Bye who must have also retired from this board... :tears:

just saw that on facebook .. :awww: but you just knew it was coming...

would have deserved a 2nd title somewhere on grass or indoors, reached 2 finals in Quebec-too bad she couldn't win one for instance but at least she didn't retire titleless :) ..

always had a soft spot for her , the kind of player I would often root for when seeing her in a draw , granted she was not facing one of my main faves ;)

nice farewell video, Marina :bigwave: enjoy yourself in this new chapter of your life, now

her friend and former doubles partner for a while Arantxa will soon follow her in retirmeent :awww:

all the players I like are retiring (Fran, Roby, Marina, Anabel, Arantxa....... ) like flies fall :hysteric:

Shes been a great torch bearer for New Zealand tennis, and sad to see her go.

Unfortunately apart from a few guys in dubs, our womens tennis is looking bleak, hopefully she can involve herself in kiwi tennis and a few emerging talents can come through

Oh Marina.... that win over Azarenka in Stanford is where I've see her play the best, mainly set 2 and 3.
Sure loved those fast courts.
