I love IVA! And hope she has a great year!

I am sooooooooooo tired of hearing people say that her French Open title was attributed by the fact that Martina was injured. Yeah right....if she was injured she wouldn't have advanced to the final like she did. Playing the most physically challenging event, running around all day on clay. DIDN'T ANY OF THOSE CRITICS WATCH THE MATCH?! Iva was in THE ZONE! She beat Martina fair and square, there was no question about it. It was a joy to see play like that! I have it on tape still!

And then, she had a good run at this years US Open!

GO IVA!!!!!!!!

Roland Garros 1995 - who can forget that match against Mary Pierce. Not so much for the tennis but for the fact that the crowd came along to cheer Mary who had reached the final the year before, beating Steffi along the way, and ended up cheering for Iva - partly because Mary didn't look in the best of moods coping with the weight of the French crowd on her back. Also Iva just seemed like a nice happy teenager enjoying herself playing with the ballboy and generally throughout the whole match. She just made herself easy to cheer for by just being herself :).

Iva also made a tough match against Stevenson in Zurich 2001, when she won, but a three setter match...

People said it was an awesome match :)

Zurich 2001

wow, thanks croat! :D A great trip down memory lane! I remember most, if not all, of those great wins!

Apart from the FO final in 97 my fave matches were her great indoors run at the end of 95 and beginning of 96! She used to have some really great epic indoor encounters with Jana Novotna!

And yes that Pierce 95 match was special! Iva was only 17 years old at the time, and was really making her presence felt on the tour at that stage.

becoolserena...yes I remember that! Also, Iva had a good win against ASV toward the end of the year in 2001, and came very close to beating Dokic again in Linz.

I hope this shoulder injury isn't as serious as it was back in 98/99...I am confident she will be OK...but nervous and worried at the same time :(

Thanks again croat, Im sure she would be *very* happy if she were to see this!

I was so relieved she beat Hingis at the French. I was ecstatic. I couldn't believe it. She's had some great wins and is a very good player

Majoli's best wins

I saw Majoli/Shaughnessy 1st round match on court 14 at Wimbledon 2001. Meghan won in two tight sets, but I was most impressed with Iva as well. It was easy to see the talent that made her a grand slam winner. Hopefully she'll have a satisfying 2002. Best of luck to Iva and her fans!

Thanks

Thanks for taking the time to post these matches! I have a lot of respect for Iva, knowing she beat all these players. She sure rocked Pierce's world for a little while. C'mon Iva, get that shoulder better, and take the tennis world by storm!

Remember that match against Martina last year in Charleston? She played so well! :D

I also remember the 95'FO match against Mary. I was cheering for Mary (being the French biased guy that i am ;)) and i was soooooooooo pissed [email protected] when everybody was cheering for her in the crowd, lol! and i had to admit she was cute and funny and that she deserved the win, hehe but then i really started to like her after that win in FO in 1997! :)

I hope Iva has a great year 2002!
