How come once again Elena has a tougher draw than Chanda???

Look at Elena's draw: :(
Pratt
Sharapova
Loit
Sugiyama
Safina

Where is a real threat to Chanda in her draw???
Maybe Barbara Schett will once again surprise us and defeat Chanda!!!???

Filadidas, dementieva was a late entrant, isn't chanda ranked higher? capriati pulled out and dementieva as a late entrant was put in her place.

besides schett can be dangerous expecially if chanda isn't playing all that well. also harkleroad, martinez, molik and dokic can be quite tough when playing well. but i do agree dementieva's draw is a bit tougher compared to chanda's

you're wrong
Elena is ranked higher.
when making draw they always take highest ranked 1st
they only switch once draw is made.
Jen withdrew 100 blue moons ago.

but i do agree Lena's draw is alot tougher.

good luck Lena :)

lovely 2nd round matchup, assuming Barbara doesnt bomb,
even if she bombs, she'll probably go to 2R given the qualies lineup:rolleyes:

all the Asians got a break, 2 Chinese WC's and Akiko got qualies,
then Ai with bye, Angelique against a clay courter, then
Yoon-Joeng against another clay courter,
all these players are trained on Asian hardcourt,
so they'll show those Europeans:D no Saori tho:(

hoping to see a new Tier II winner, so cant wait:)
