OK, this question is obviously directed at fans of the top-players (current or past).

I will start with Steffi (although she's not my all-time favourite).
Grass was always called her best surface, and it obviously was her favourite one. But I have always thought that, with her backhand, she's most vulnerable there. Of course, her slice-backhand is a great weapon on grass when the opponent stays at the baseline.
But players like Mariaan de Swardt or Patty Fendick showed what you had to do: serve-and-volley, attack her on the backhand and finish off with the volley. Although they didn't win, their tacvtic still was successful.

After 1995 Canadian open I always worried when I saw Coetzer vs Graf and in 1997 it was so annoying when they met 4 times that year .

Chanda Rubin was a nightmare for Gabriela Sabatini in 1996 as well - to be fair they only met twice that year, but Chanda thrashed her in the Australian open and beat her in Key Biscayne as well which was hard for me as she played so few big tournaments that year before retiring .

Marlene Weintgarnter, Joanette Kruger, and Nathalie Dechy for Arantxa....but ESPECIALLY AMY FRAZIER. Arantxa led Amy 3-0 in their head to head but Amy won the next 4 to lead the series 4-3. The last 3 were of 3 close sets:

97 Manhattan- Amy won 3-6, 6-1, 6-3
00 Los Angeles- Amy 6-3, 3-6, 6-3
01 FRENCH OPEN 2ND ROUND- AMY WON 1-6, 6-3, 6-4

I know my Ai Sugiyama tends to cause greif for Mary Pierce .... she leads their Head to Head 4-3

Ai Sugiyama (JPN) 7-5 6-7 6-4
Mary Pierce (FRA) 5-7 6-2 6-4
Mary Pierce (FRA) 6-3 6-2
Ai Sugiyama (JPN) 6-3 4-6 6-1
Mary Pierce (FRA) 6-3 7-5
Ai Sugiyama (JPN) 6-4 3-6 6-3
Ai Sugiyama (JPN) 7-5 6-4

Also Kim Clijsters does not enjoy playing her...
Their H to H is 2-2 winning their last
meeting in straight sets same with JenCap to is also 2-2 with Ai

Shokcing enough is Ai has a good record against Amanda Coetzer leading 4-3 she has won the last 3 meetings! - she must have a tactic against Mandy - attack the net and don't let Mandy wear you out!

Amanda Coetzer (RSA) 7-5 6-1
Ai Sugiyama (JPN) 7-5 6-0
Amanda Coetzer (RSA) 6-1 7-5
Amanda Coetzer (RSA) 6-3 2-6 6-2
Ai Sugiyama (JPN) 4-6 6-2 6-3
Ai Sugiyama (JPN) 7-5 6-1
Ai Sugiyama (JPN) 6-4 6-4

pretty good huh?

Frazier and Weingartner, as mentioned are definetly two I don't like seeing Arantxa face. Another name would be Elena Likhovtseva. She's a dangerous floater against many people certainly, but her game seems to get to Arantxa in their most recent meetings. Earlier this year Elena started out terribly, I remember her losing in a 75k challenger to Bethanie Mattek, while Arantxa had beaten Hingis at Amelia Island...Then a week later they play at Charleston and Likhovtseva beats her! lol...Probably a combination of Elena just knowing how to beat Arantxa, and also her being a really streaky player, but never like to see her against Arantxa.

Steffi had troubles with southafrican players, Mariaan de Swart beat her and the other matches were very close, Amanda Coetzer beat her 4 times(But of course she isn`t a low ranked player) and even Joanette Kruger won a set against her at the french 94. I wonder why that is

Lori McNeil... always seemed to give Graf trouble. She beat her twice, Wimbledon and VS Champs and lost to her narrowly at the US Open.
Not that Lori was a low ranked player anyway!!!

Does Tammy count as a low-ranked player? She certainly gave Momo a lot of trouble at Wimbledon this year! And even Tauziat at Eastbourne, but I think Nathalie self-destructed in that match.

Tammy's a lot of fun to watch on grass, especially against the French ladies (Halard-Decugis, Testud, Sidot were also beaten by Tammy at Wimbledon, Birmingham & other tourneys).

If she could only become an all-surface player, esp. on clay! She really needs someone to work with on her MENTAL game!!!!!! (But I don't think she will listen to me cuz I'm her BIG SIS!)

Sandrine Testud seemed to have Jen's number in the European hardcourt season even though Jen had beaten her 6-2 6-1 in Wimbledon.

Martina Hingis:

Virginie Razzano
Iva Majoli
Sandrine Testud (not a very low ranked player, but she will ALWAYS take Marti to the 3rd)
