serena didn´t beat kuti kis in 37 minutes, i found this on the wimbledon website!
Playing the aggressive tennis that earlier in her career had her tagged as the next Steffi Graf, the 26-year-old German annihilated her Russian opponent, Elena Dementieva, 19, to post, at 38 minutes, the fastest match at this year's Championships, with her 6-0 6-2 victory.
anke was faster then serena, but i think it was not the shortest match of the year!
Kournikova was involved with two pretty fast matches in her career. She beat Patricia Wartusch @ the Oz in the first round in 2000 6-0,6-0 in 33 minutes. A couple of weeks later, she was beaten by Hingis @ the Pan Pacific 6-0, 6-2 in 38 minutes.
Wasn't Chanda Rubin involved in one of the longest matches @ Wimbledon in 1995? I remember reading in a tennis magazine that the match was 4.5 hours long. I think she was playing Patricia Hy-Boulais (Canada) 7-6 (4), 6-7(5), 17-15 in the R64. Chanda lost her next match to Anke Huber 2-6, 4-6 in R32. To be honest, I'm surprised that she had anything left!
Chanda is such a battler.....she won against Halard-Decugis, I believe, at the Australian 18-16 and beat Majoli 10-8 in a Fed Cup match once.....and of course, defeating Jana Novotna 9/7 after being down 5/0 40/0!
TOT, Conchita's QF match at Wimbledon lasted something around 50 minutes... which considering Conchita's average speed, that's like a 30 minutes match by any other player
