Ive just been reading a thread about the top 10 in 2005...and EVERYONE, and i mean EVERYONE who has posted says that lindsay will be reti...no longer on our courts:sad:

so it got me worrying..and im sure all TOPS have thought about it

what do we do when 'IT' happens????

how are all going to cope, what will we do, will the clan fold, no news on lindsay, we wont know how she is...until she drops her first sprog anyway...

u gotta help me guys....i dont know if i can cope...the injury is taking its toll already

i pray to god that there is going to be some sort of rehab centre for depressed TOPS to spend the rest of there years living in past glory....instead of TOPping (parden the pun, i couldnt resist) themselves.....

We all know she won't be playing tennis for ten more years. But just knowing that can make us enjoy each moment she's out there on court even more. We just have to try and make the best of it while she's still playing, keep supporting her no matter what.

The day she decides to retire will be a very sad day indeed, but its not the end of the world. And after a long period of weeping and alcohol abuse im sure we can find a way to go on with our lives ;)
I say another 8 more years on the tour which is good enough for 10 years.
Well, it'll happen but at least we have a couple of years to go :)

I'm pretty sure that when it happens Lindsay will have a proper "fairwell" from the WTA - perhaps at the year end champs of the year she retires - or somewhere bigger to fit the whole of TOP's in ;)

Well thanks for that guys, if i already wasn't depressed enough (having to wait the whole possible...6 months for linds' return),
Jacs you got any tylenol spare, i think when that day comes we may all need some.

Who was the bearer of the badnews??

Stay positive please folks and until that day comes (never, i am hoping) also please stay positive and keep on cheering lindsay on

I supported Steffi before Lindsay and when Steffi retired I thought my world had come to a complete end but then there was this rather nice buth powerful player called Lindsay whom I soon supported just as loyally as I had done Steffi and everything in my world came right again. Who I will support after dear Lindsay retires I don't know but someone will step into the breach. So it will be a very sad day when she retires but rest assured we will get it over it, although i too don't want to think about it.

Looking forward to her return in 2002 and for her to wow us again with some power playing.

Cheers for now

Jan

Jan,but Lindsay is for you the same Steffi was?or for Steffi (cos she was the first u loved) u felt something different?
i dont know if i'll follow women's tennis after Lindsay's retire.maybe i'll just follow men.but i'm sure NO ONE will be loved from me as Lindsay is now.

GET WELL SOON LINDSAY!WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU!
I dont think ill stop watching tennis, but there wont be anyone quite like Lindsay to support. Jan, i think you were very lucky to have found yourself a second fave but i dont think i will :)

I think im gonna stick to the mens tennis too.
Yes I agree. There will never be anyone quite like Lindsay. There's just something about her. It's hard to describe.

It will be sad when she retires....extremely....but I think I'm coping ok now.
Maybe when she retires we can beg and plead for her to e-mail us all or hold a special chat so she can say a farewell to her beloved fans. Or something like that. I think that would be very nice.

Be even better if we were all invited to her farewell party. :D
this post is too depressing to even respond to.. sorry . It's bad enough that she's out for six months without contemplating her retirement!
aaack!! gasp!! not funny. are you trying to kill me?

come back lindsay!
im sorry guys i didnt mean to upset anyone...will u all forgive me:sad:
As long as you never EVER do it again! :fiery: ;)
I didn't mean to upset or depress anyone either.

Lindsay and Steffi were friendly and Lindsay admired the way Steffi retired at the top (NO 3) and she says she wants to do that - its really cool I think she said, so that really endeared me to support Lindsay although I have liked her ever since I saw her at Eastbourne in 1996 before she had really won any big title.

I idolised Steffi and was so upset when she retired although I know it was the right decision for her. I shall be just as upset when Lindsay does go but I don't think it will be just yet. I love ladies tennis but I always need someone special to root for.

GO GO GO LINDSAY

just got the new issue of ace magazine..right near the backin 'tournament preveiws' at the very end it says...

".....but the title holder wont win again. Lindsay Davenports career is in trouble after requiring ANOTHER operation on the knee she damaged last year.."

I thought this op was her first on the knee..or am i wrong? if i am then when and what was the othe op for???

any one know..
theres also a pic of lindsay advertising for eastbourne and one about a good lob shot:confused:
Not Good

This ain't the news we want to hear. It's not good. We must remain positive

it took me a long time to answer to this ... because i was contemplating what to say ... anyway ...

there would be no one ever like lindsay, in my opinion, but i love women's tennis enough to stick around. lindsay would always have a wonderful place in my heart because she was the one who got me into tennis. as i have said myself before, i was crazy about lindsay so much that i created a whole club for her!

even so, lindsay would retire some day and we will face that eventually. i would want that the club be NOT disbanded even after her retirement because we have shared a bit of ourselves as TOPs and that would never change. we can remember everything about lindsay for ever!

what about it guys? :)
dont worry guys, lindsay has been through more that you think. she wont let this operation hit her as bad as she would want it to :)
