Apart from Volkov, I do not remember any Russian lefthanders, which is quite natural, of course, because being a lefthander was nto allowed in the Soviet Union. Still, now, I guess, lefthanders are rare. I guess, Fokina is lefty, and Koulikovskaya is a lefty too.
BTW, what is Koulikovskaya doing right now? Haven't seen her name in any Challengers or satellite. I hope that US Open was not just an episode, but maybe an indication of the better things to come. In the era of brainless power tennis, WTA would really need some players of this kind of finesse..
