i was really into kpop in 2013-2015, i think i posted in this thread a lot around that time. but after suicides of jonghyun, sulli, and goo hara, and continual stories of mental health issues (choa in AoA for example) with pretty much no action from the industry, unrealistic body standards, a sort of "muterte" across terrible industry practices like not openly talking about surgery, i feel uncomfortable listening to it. also the bops aren't the same. that's why i'm more willing to listen to artists like hyolyn atm who are able to do their own thing and definitely are trying to break some barriers.

It's not bad, but I do miss their earlier stuff.

PWF, Boombayah, AIIYL, Stay, Whistle
It's just BP by the numbers.. which I find it really disappointing since BP is considered the face of girlband KPOP

I think I agree with that assessment. But KTL is pretty much dumpster troll music

the mental health issues put you off but you still support hyolyn the bully?

k-pop has always been and will continue to be problematic but at least old k-pop still slaps. all of the big 3’s groups are now terrible and as a result the trends all contribute to the noise pollution
