The lowest ranked seed by entry was Haddad Maia at 27 with Anisimova's withdrawal it is Kenin who is 30 in the ranking. So Emma is one withdrawal away from being seeded.

BHM and Kudermetova have great chances to reach finals in Sao Paulo and Guadalajara, respectively. So good chances one or both will withdraw. If so, given Emma's "luck" in draws, Emma will play Iga in R3 (QF). Otherwise it will be R2 (just because Iga is busy with a BYE in R1).

 

Or Kejcikova in round 1 if Emma is seeded.

Ha. Another 'Are you ready' post about Emma. At least this one didn't keep us dangling, lol.

 

It's Thursday evening in Seoul. Hopefully Emma is already there and had practice today. After all the plethora of SM sightings by fans in the NA tournaments. That we don't go back to dribbles of a post here and there.

 

When will the draw be out? Friday in Seoul?

 

Qualies maybe, main draw starts Monday so sat or sun ?

 

The draw for qualies will be done on Friday night(Korea time), and the main draw will be made at the draw ceremony on "the day before the start," on Saturday or Sunday.

P.S. By the way, I am a Korean American who resides in Florida. So I can read Korean . Some poor translations here, as you might have noticed.

Qualifying is always 4 pm local time the day before qualifying starts . So the qualifying draw out tomorrow around 8h30-9h30 am UK time / 3h30-4h30 am EST New York

Emma should try hitting down the lines, opposite side each shot. She could practice that with Mr Vamos, put cones down about three feet from each side line at the baseline, and have to hit it into that 3 foot zone. Would be fun to catch the opponent unawares, especially against someone good, it would be fun to watch the opponent running from side to side in a match for a change
