Now that grand slam season is over, we're onto the Asian hardcourt swing now, starting with the WTA500 South Korean Open @ Seoul.

The tournament runs from Monday 15th - Sunday 21st September 2025.

It's a 28-Player Draw, which means there are BYES for the Top 4 Seeds in this competition. UInfortunately, Emma won't be in the top 4 seeds but depending on any withdrawals over the next few days will determine whether she sneaks into a lower seeded spot or not.

The player list for the event is below :

The draw for the event will be conducted later this week. It'll be updated below as and when it happens.

Emma will play her first singles match on either Monday 15th, or Tuesday 16th September. Time, court and opponent TBC.

As always, the matches will be available to download in the relevant thread at the top of Emma's Empire. I'll try and get them uploaded as soon as possible.

It's Thursday evening in Seoul. Hopefully Emma is already there and had practice today. After all the plethora of SM sightings by fans in the NA tournaments. That we don't go back to dribbles of a post here and there.

The draw for qualies will be done on Friday night(Korea time), and the main draw will be made at the draw ceremony on "the day before the start," on Saturday or Sunday.

P.S. By the way, I am a Korean American who resides in Florida. So I can read Korean ;) . Some poor translations here, as you might have noticed.

Quali draw is out: https://www.tennisforum.com/threads/seoul-qualifying-draw.1428265/?post_id=85965258#post-85965258

Given that Parks was #2 on the list 7 days ago, it would appear that only one player has been promoted into the main draw (probably Siegemund), so we are not looking at many withdrawals

Linda Fruity is playing Qualies, and will play what is often the easiest draw possible, the local Quali Wild Card.
Probably Lys too, she was ranked higher than Parks in the main draw alternalte list (Aug 18)

Emma should try hitting down the lines, opposite side each shot. She could practice that with Mr Vamos, put cones down about three feet from each side line at the baseline, and have to hit it into that 3 foot zone. Would be fun to catch the opponent unawares, especially against someone good, it would be fun to watch the opponent running from side to side in a match for a change :D
