What is it?
Why does it sound derogatory?

Junkballing is a term use in (American) baseball, it refers to a pitcher who uses alot of lame, unconventual and especially slow pitches.

It's also used by writers in reference to unsubtantionated and not particularly cogent material.

As far as I know, it's never used in the context of THAT kind of 'balling'. ;)

I believe it's used to describe players with unorthodox playing styles... or counterpunching as opposed to overpowering... ASV, Conchi and Coetzer are often called "junkballers". I don't believe it has the same meaning in tennis as it does in baseball though.
