Yup, not too impressive. No offence to the other players, I think Kim can just bag this one.

I predict that "bye" beats Alex 6-2, 6-3.

LMAO... I  Knizzle.

Maybe we'll see a good effort from Shaughnessy here. I'm dying for her to play some quality tennis.

don't you mean when Conchita Martinez gets a bye on hard courts there are just too many damn byes. :(

Looks a very easy draw for Kim, could be an interesting meeting with Petrova or Sharapova though.

Last time I checked Martinez is 14 in the world.
and its still hard court and there still should be enough ranked people ahead of her if there were only 4 byes.

Ranking has nothing to do with surface. Thomas Muster was still a top seed at the US Open even if he had most of his points on clay.

Anyway it's a 48 players draw instead of 28. Yes, there are more bye, but it's because the draw is large. She still has 5 matches to go if she wants to win the tournement, like a 28 players draw.

Its a decent draw for a tier II, however, Manhaten Beach used to be almost as strong as Miami or pre 2002 Indian Wells.

oh well, i guess itll be three in a row for Kim, in straights sets i bet too.
