Given how little Robson has played in recent years I'm not sure how often they've ever met.Their paths may not have met up very much in recent times and people can't get on with everybody.

Probably not much outside of the Fed Cup weeks before Robson’s injuryGiven how little Robson has played in recent years I'm not sure how often they've ever met.

It would have been the case simply because Laura was playing on the main tour throughout 2012 and 2013 whereas Jo was mostly on the ITF tour and probably only competed together at Wimbledon and the grass court tournaments.

I'm paywalled. Why does Laura think TH is a "weird choice"?
Yeah, I think she tried to be diplomatic, but it also comes across basically like Jo is saying Laura doesn't know what she's talking about. 😅I think Jo was being very diplomatic. She's had a fair few coaches so I hope that this one works out well for her.
I seem to recall her saying in an interview when Fissette was her coach that she didn't have dinner with her team or socialise with them. I think she isn't a very social touchy/feely type of person. Her personality comes over as being the total opposite of Heather's. If I had a choice of meeting either I would choose Heather every time. I think she would fun to talk to but I think the conversation with Jo would be a bit stilted and you would soon run out of things to talk about.Yeah, I think she tried to be diplomatic, but it also comes across basically like Jo is saying Laura doesn't know what she's talking about. 😅
I don't know even I'm overreading into things (probably) but I remember a recent interview with Sue Barker during "Wimbledon" things looked a bit tense between Heather and Jo. I mean obviously they had to keep a distance but they didn't really seem to acknowledge each other or interact much... Hmm...
Maybe Jo just doesn't feel like she wants to be part of the Britsh tennis clique. It doesn't seem like cliques would be her thing. She seems to generally have a lot of respect though, particuarly from the younger players.
And how many coaches did Laura have? A fair few as well I think.I think Jo was being very diplomatic. She's had a fair few coaches so I hope that this one works out well for her.
It was an observation not a criticism. And how many coaches did Laura have? A fair few as well I think.
I was trying to find some earlier Fed Cup videos, cos swear I do remember Jo mucking in with the girls, including Laura, like playing games etc. I found these....I seem to recall her saying in an interview when Fissette was her coach that she didn't have dinner with her team or socialise with them. That was seven years ago though, poor Bally was still alive.I was trying to find some earlier Fed Cup videos, cos swear I do remember Jo mucking in with the girls, including Laura, like playing games etc. I found these....
TBh, Jo looks like a pretty fun and lively person. I do like her sense of humour too. Doesn't look like her and Laura were particularly close even back then, but they could get on still. I'm guessing it's just that there is a bit of cliqueness in the Brits.. Jo was originally playing for Australia, so maybe she just never built the same kind of relationship as say Heather and Laura have for example. To be honest, I owuld liek to meet Jo, I could probably just spend hours talking about her dog. 😅 😅 😅
I know, it made me sad to see Bally. That was seven years ago though, poor Bally was still alive.
I did find this.I know, it made me sad to see Bally.
And yes, it was a long time ago but like if you got on with someone very well 7 years ago, you still got on with them, if that makes sense.
