I find this choice of events interesting. She is not officially in the tournament, since she missed the deadline, but can accept a wildcard if she is offered one.

I am a bit suprised that Jen chose the event. Although the lineup is not very deep, the second round (when Jen would start) is only about a week and a half after the US Open. Then again, Serena was originally going to play and played Tokyo in the same week last year.

jen is smart to make this move. no one in the top ten besides herself as of now in the field. i am supposing they will let her in the draw?!
