Glyn, the Jelena websites are fantastic! Great interviews and wonderful photos! Speaking of photos: If Jelena wanted to play up her glamour girl image, she would make alot more money in endorsements. My two favorite players are the sexy Anna Kournikova and the lovely Elena Dementieva. Right now, Jelena is a better tennis player than Anna and Elena. And you could make the case that Jelena is the best looking girl/woman in women's tennis. Right? Oh, those cheekbones! Models would kill for Jelena's cheekbones!
P.S. I didn't know how much Jelena was hurt by her battles with Tennis Australia. It's too bad. Jelena makes a good point when she says that Australians love to take world class athletes from other countries and turn them into Australian citizens. Jelena says the perfect example is Tatiana Grigorieva, the Russian born and Russian raised athlete who moved to Australia a few years ago and took up ploe vaulting. She then became an Australian citizen, to the delight of Australia. But Tatiana's mother said she would rather have Tatiana win a bronze medal for Russia, than win a silver medal for Australia. Tataina won a silver medal for Australia in the pole vault. Jelena makes a good point. Australians like it when they take worls class athletes from other countries, and they become Australian citizens. But they resent it when an athlete. like Jelena, wants to play for the country she is from and was born in. In this case, Yugoslavia. It's too bad the Australians are hypocritical. I now know the problems between Jelena and tennis Australia have hurt Jelena deeply. And that's why she doesn't want tp play the 2002 Australian Open. And that's a shame.
