Re: JA Merida, Mexico

Time for Collard to show she has the right stuff. I'm not yet convinced for Singles but she could become a great doubles specialist at least.

A 2005 girl from Androrra  Good luck to her, put Andorra into the tennis map :cheer:
Only 1 female player has an ITF pro profile but she never even won a MD match.

Maria Bondarenko is so small. Some stupid net attacks.
Victoria is quite tall. She reminds me of Vondrousova from the few points I saw.

Jimenez Kasintseva, Eala and Fruhvirtova seem to be the best 2005 girls.

I noticed that Eala and Jimenez Kasintseva are both left-handed
Both girls could break many records for Philippines and Andorra if they keep improving.

Are the parents of Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva from Spain and Moldova ?

Is she actually from Andorra?
Yes. Her dad is from Andorra and was #1 player from his country for many years, reaching #516 ATP in singles and #355 in doubles.

After retiring, the family moved to Kentucky where he coached for some years and that's why Victoria speaks English perfectly. They moved back to Barcelona several years ago where they had lived before (Andorra while being a country itself in the Pyreness in between France and Spain has the strongest ties since forever with Catalonia, mostly because their official language is Catalan and people usually move there if they leave Andorra). They live and train now in Sitges, Barcelona, 5 minutes ago from my place, actually :eek:h:

And her mother ? From Moldova ?
I guess the surname "Jimenez" comes from her father.
And the surname "Kasintseva" should come from her mother.
