completely obliterated and destroyed. overrated player swiatek who can win against most weak "top" players got exposed greatly. good to see that some players figured out how to beat her. god this tennis era is bad.
I see you just don't like Iga as you don't begin her name with a Capitalized first letter. It is OK for me that some people hate/dislike sucesfull players. It is natural. I suppose your faves don't do well, so you are thirsty of any wins. I hope you can explain me what do you mean by overrated player? Who does overrate her? And where? Do you mean no one should mention at all the multiple GS winner and #1 for 50 weeks at just 21? You know very well that Iga with all her great successes in nowhere near other playesr who are overrated a lot despite not winning titles at all, and you know who I am talking about.

It's funny how hypocritical people are. Many TF members who post here bashing Iga on her injury "exuses", claim that Iga was successful last year because Sabalenka anounced excuses about her mental problems with the service. They just don't see the "excuse" of Sabalekna if it suits them.

I'm old-fashioned in that I generally don't think athletes should make excuses to the press, even if they are valid ones. It shows a lack of character, and is, I believe, bad karma. If you want to publicize it later when you bail from the next event, that's fine, people will understand "Oh, okay".

But when asked about it in the presser the athlete should take responsibility for the loss, just say " on the day she was the better player", which is the truth. I don't consider it a "sin of omission", what a player chooses to share, and when, is their own business.

Injuries are a part of sport, unfortunately, and they're not "fair", but to a certain extent it's still up to the player and their team to manage them and to take responsibility for them.

Some may think it's a subtle difference, but I think it matters.

But of course the press are fucking annoying and they often won't let these things go, so I understand if players sometimes feel hounded into spilling the beans immediately.

(Rant over)

Not Excuse Swiatek was really injured this time otherwise she would have won the match.

Queen Swiatek will be back to win RG regardless...
Didn't Rybakina have strapping on her shoulders earlier in the week? How many players are actually at 100% health anyway?

Understand you said it's not an excuse but it's not even worth mentioning because it's tacky and unsportsperson like to mention injuries especially after a loss.

It is worth mentioning because it affected the match outcome.

Also don't see it as Unsportsmanlike because it's just a fact. mentioning a fact like someone being injured is not even close to being Unsportsmanlike in my opinion.

You also mentioned Elena Rybakina injuries yet yet call other posters out for mentioning simple facts/injuries. 😂

Also don't appreciate you trying tell me that I should mention or not I say wantever Want to it's a tennis fourm your not my boss.

I see Elena Rybakina AO win as legitimate win over Swiatek however this win was mainly due to injury.
Both are legitimate wins. So one isn't legitimate in your view cause she's injured but not injured enough to retire and still played the whole match.

Like I said, how many players are truly 100% healthy when they play? Lose gracefully.

This is the internet, don't get so worked up on it. Its a discussion.

Just because swiatek ended the match doesn't make it legitimate win we all know players don't retire then their should.

One in AO was legitimate win however this one was undecided we wait until swiatek fully fit to see legitimate match. and swiatek did lose gracefully no idea why keep mentioning this.

Not getting worked at all but posters are free to mention injury if want to not going jump on them like you and say poor sportsmanship 😂.

That's just silly and mentioning Elena Rybakina injury in same post as telling me not mention Swiatek injury is like beating yourself in argument.

I easily turn around and say your being Unsportsmanlike for mentioning Elena Rybakina injurie. Win gracefully

Not buying whole nobody 100% then play argument it's just lazy to subjective. clearly swiatek injuries was much worse than Elena Rybakina.

If swiatek was more injured than Elena Rybakina then it does take from the win that's just the reality of Situation. It hurts poor sportsmanship feelings that's your issue mate.

Personally would mentioned the swiatek injury even if she had won it has nothing to do with losing or winning in my opinion that's just you.

If can't take poster mentioning injuries maybe shouldn't be on TF because it's going happen all the time.

Injuries are part of tennis of course posters talk about them in matches and after it doesn't mean they are being Unsportsmanlike or Salty.

Hopefully you reply in nice way and not get defensive about everything mate good debating with you.

Haha this isnt highschool. May not be 'legitimate' in your eyes but the record shows it's a win.

You need to chill out. It's just two players hitting tennis balls at the end of the day.

You're projecting way too much. Getting so defensive when people mention anything bad about Iga. Like I said, chill out. I enjoy Iga's game too.

Don’t waste your breath. Some of Iga’s fans are delusional and unhinged. Not worth engaging.

All wins are legit wins. Chance is a part of all games and sports, everybody needs luck, a good draw, and to avoid injuries.
