Congrats to both, I was reading Maloofhoof's commentary in the commentary thread, I could feel your pain with every Katka moment. That's why we love her.
Typical Babs, as solid as ever, Katka being, well, Katka.
They just are the best.
I think I am glad I was asleep when it was on, couldn't have survived it.

Wonder if they will give Miami a miss in doubles? Quick turnaround, they have maximum points and it was stressful! Babs gave Sabalenka her toughest match in singles and must be looking to have another good run in singles. Will she want to focus on that? Not seen any entry lists so don’t know if they are entered…

Also, cool they got to meet Pink afterwards!

Phew! That was unnecessary! The Czechs started brilliantly, both playing well and Siegemund and Haddad Maia were not in the match. Credit to them for fighting, but this match was about Katka. Her serve had been much more solid lately, but it was back to the bad old days today and her forehand leaked errors too. That they managed to get the win is a testament to teamwork and Krejcikova playing the solid partner for a ragged Siniakova. Winning while not playing your best is the mark of champions. Congratulations Czech girls but this was highly stressful for us fans. My fingernails are shredded!
Pretty much key to their success. When one has an off day second step up. This and the fact that their communication on court is just brilliant.

I second Tennis2013 analysis. So tired of Siniakova's inconsistent play where she has bouts of unforced errors. I saw that in person in quarters. It is amazing the patience Krejcikova had with this. And they do manage to pull out close matches at a high rate even when giving up a set.

I don’t see anyone beating them unless maybe Gauff+Pegula finally step it up. They are so dominant right now. So Siegemund must have jumped on a red eye from Cali last night because isn’t she playing qualies in Miami today. That must be brutal for her!!!

To be fair, Katka is the one who often wins points at the net - and was much the better player of the two in the SF on serve too. In this final it was bizzare how her form deserted her. The serve, the forehand, even the usually reliable backhand and volleys! She pulled it back together a bit and did put away a few in the TB.
They talk A LOT on the court, but not that much in their chairs when you think they might. Didn’t see Babs say anything to Katka after that second set and 2 sitters on MP Katka missed. Not much TOO day I guess... she knew she should have got them

Womens doubles is great compared to that mess on the mens side. A couple of geezers won the Indian Wells title there.

Congrats to the Czechs!
43 year old Bopanna won his first masters and is the oldest ever winner of a masters, well done to him but does show how different atp doubles is to wta
