ITF Live Streaming

I had been enjoying the live streaming on the ITF website for about 2 years, but beginning the first week of January 2024, for some tournaments I have been getting a "no valid video source found Error #600 manifest load error A Network error (status 404) occurred while loading manifest." Oddly the error message is only for some tournaments. Others I can still watch. For example, some tournamnets from Europe I can watch and others I get the error. The only consistency I have seen is that I get the error message for all tournaments in the USA and Mexico.

Has anyome else had this problem? Know anything about why? I checked with my ISP (Xfinity/Comcast in the USA) and they say they are not blocking it.

Appreciate the reply. I thought of a geoblock. I tried a VPN from about 15 different countries on all continents. Still received the Error #600 on all of them. If it is a geoblock why would I be able to watch some tournaments in Europe but not others?
Tried emailing the ITF home office in London over 2 weeks ago. No response. Big surprise. Sent another two days ago but I expect nothing. Even tried callng them long distance from the US and you go into a queue with dead air. After more than five minutes I hung up.

I am having this problem now ! It started since yesterday when I updated the Adblock extension in one of my browsers (Safari) but the ITF stream always gave the error message you're talking about in Safari anyway (since I installed the Adblock after working fine before, so presumably due to it) so I would always use it in Chrome but now I'm getting the message there too. Whenever I have tried the live-streaming using a VPN in the past it would give the message, and the same is true now. What VPN do you (and others) use ?

Stopping is different from these error messages when it won't play at all though.

These error messages prevent it from ever starting in the first place.

Hi,

This problem happens with ALL the ITF streams, on all my devices: desktop, laptop, iPhones (several models, older and newer). So it seems unlikely I am the only one experiencing this.

I refer to the screen shot below... The message there reads "Stream could not be loaded, no valid video source found." (Below that, in smaller font, it says: "ERROPR #600 - manifestLoadError "A network error (status 404) occurred while loading manifest"".)

This problem started maybe two, three months ago. Before that, I never had any problems with the streams on any device.

One hypothesis is that the problem is not with the actual tennis streams but with the promotional ADDS that are supposed to play before the tennis feeds starts playing...

Anyone who knows what's going wrong here? And importantly, what I could do to be able to watch the streams again? Didn't find a ready solution online.

Thanks for any reply!

Just tried it here in Perth, same problem as you, however i clicked on to a Mens 25 in Santa Margherita and it's working fine, maybe it's certain events.?

I just tried 3 random streams from the live.itftennis.com site.
All of them worked fine (W75 Chiasso, W15 Antalya, and Switzerland 02A).

So it might be something either with your location, or with an adblocker you're using, etc.

This particular error has been around for a while, not just the last two or three months. I can normally clear it by going back to the main video library page, refreshing that, and then reloading the stream that I was watching/want to watch. I run everything through my VPN, and don't normally have a problem (certainly never with WTATV or TennisTV).

I'm also getting quite a few streams that buffer repeatedly, even though I have a high speed fibre link. That's just as annoying, because it's always on a crucial point when the stream freezes for those two or three seconds.

The other grizzle that I have with ITF streams is that so many cameras are set up looking into the sun! If you're in the Northern Hemisphere, put the camera at the south end of the court, and vice versa for the Southern Hemisphere. It's not rocket science! If that means you need to run extra cabling to the other end of the court, so be it.

It's definitely the location, seems to have nothing to do with adblock. Funnily enough, I tried without adblock and a stream that was working fine didn't work without adblock.
Early this year I wasn't able to watch pretty much anything without a vpn/proxy, now some streams have begun working.
W75 Koper - Works
W75 Chiasso - Doesn't work
W50 Calvi - Works
W35 Santa Margherita - Works
M15 Antalya - Doesn't work

Well, as an update, today the streams seems to be working again as they used to up to a few months ago, for no apparent reason (after all, they hadn't been working for several months, for no apparent reason either). But when I change my location to Asia (Japan to be precise, using a VPN), I do get the exact same error again. To be clear, up to today, the error (no stream found) appeared regardless of whether I used a VPN, and more often than not I did NOT use a VPN (and if I did, it was with a European location). Anyway, it seems to be working again, at least on my PC, and at least for the time being...

I also have been getting this error message more and more no matter if I use or not my NordVpn or switch servers.
If you browse using a computer and right click anywhere on the screen and select Inspect (at the bottom of the popup) you will see the developper tools window and in one of the panes you can see error and warning messages. One of those warnings pertains to a deprecated function that is used in the Javascript code for the the video viewer and if it's not corrected will mean that videos could eventually not be viewable. I'm not enough of a programmer to know what the conditions are that make some videos viewable or not. Could it be new equipment installed at the different sites using more up to date video codecs that the ITF's deprecated viewer can't process? Defective networking configuration at the different sites? I'm pretty sure tournament organizers have no clue nor do they care about live feeds working or not (since there is no revenue coming from free feeds).
Contacting communications@itftennis.com or any of their other emails or Messenger account is apparently useless.
Do they plan on adressing the issue or making it a pay per view service, they're not saying squat!
I guess it was a nice ride for a while, but it looks like I'll have to watch something else because the way it's going, when you get a crapload of matches on Mondays and Tuesdays that can't be viewed, you just want to yell at those people "What the hell is wrong with you?".

They don’t care. It’s a free service, presumably with the goal of increasing the sport’s reach. The site administrators don’t care because they aren’t paid to, and I doubt that this shit site with constant errors and no replays moves the needle in terms of overall viewership in the absence of some promotion.
