Agreed. I don't know why someone like Cornet dragged this out for so long though considering nobody cares about her though. She probably thought she needed to retire twice as people barely noticed she was gone the first time around.

Very likable player, but understandable retirement. Adding San Sebastian to my bucket list...

She retired at the right moment last year at RG when her ranking was falling out of the top 100 and she couldn’t get the slam MD paychecks anymore.

Granted she had a fun little time touring this year and had a nice little hopeful run to the final round of Wimbledon qualies but I think it’s obvious that the level this year wasn’t there for her to get back to a slam MD level.
