I mean...

Venus has like 700 points right now...
she wins Charleston + 430
thats 1130
that would put her in the high 20s range...
if she wins Warsaw + 275 - 70
thats only like 1335
she would be knocking on the top 16s door...
but then Rome points comes off - 195
thats 1140....
putting her in the 17-20 range...

which is good enought, depends how many
players rank higher than her withdraws...:tape:
Na, Safina, Schnyder has more to defend...
but they wont go down the 1000 mark...

on the other hand....
theres tati, playing great nothing to defend...
or Vera...who I think has very few to defend (who too is finding her form on clay...)

So I think that its not bad if she enters Rome,
and get the draw like she have here in Charleston:p
TO ASSURE THAT SHE GETS THAT 16TH SEED IN ROLAND GARROS,
i mean with the way shes playing in this tournament.

She could enter Berlin, and I want her to win Berlin cuz its the only
major clay tourny that she hasnt got. but that would be like
playing 7 weeks in a row, and she might end up like
Petrova last yer....:help:

i have a sneaky suspicion venus will play one of the two Tier 1's. She has expressed a lot of desire to keep playing matches this year......

Hope she plays berlin though so she isnt too tired before RG, espescially if she's playing Istanbul as well.

Hopefully Venus will be smart and not enter any more events, the ranking is not worth it.

I can bet that thinking about seedings is the last thing on Venus' mind.
I thought i heard them say that
they are working to get their rankings up so that
Miami 3R wonts happen again...

and Venus is soooo eager to get that 16th seed before Istanbul tourney starts...
she even entered AI...

The last time i saw her enter that late is I think on 2002 Paris Indoors..

I doubt Vee will risk injury or burnout just for 16th seed. As long as she is top 24, which is pretty doable right now, she won't run into any of the big one's till the 4th round

good Idea...
what if Serena doesnt show up in one of those events...
cuz of her injury, which hopefully would have been healed by then...

do you think that Venus would take a WC into one of those events???:wavey:

I dont think she is going to change her schedule you guys. Serena is playing both of those tournies, and I think that is why Venus is playing the other two. They dont normally play the same tournies because they each plan on winning when they enter, so if they meet- they like to meet when it matters, at a grandslam. I think she will win here in Charleston, improve on last year and win in germany.

She won't play these events IMO which is a good decision!

She's playing too much

Although she expressed that she would like to be seeded 16th or higher when RG arrives, she knows what overplaying will do to her body. She is an experienced player and I am sure she would not do crazy schedule at the risk of getting injured or exhausted when a GS arrives.

Somehow seedings is irrelevant to the Williams sisters' chance/capabality of winning a tournament. It doesn't matter whether they are seeded no. 1 or 16 or unseeded. When they are in top form, they don't really care what kind of draw they get (well except meeting each other before a final).

If she losts early in Warsaw IMO yes, otherwise I don't think so...
She might try to play Rome, to do the best and avoid playing Istanbul

But most probably her schedule will just be Warsaw, Istanbul...

It's not worthy for Venus to enter more tourneys on clay. She was looking already tired today against Medina. And she will play Fed Cup and then immediately Warsaw, and I think she should take two weeks of and then prepare for Istanbul. I just hope she has a good ranking for the USOPEN!

i can see her playing Berlin, for some reason.

Hope she'll add Rome. Leave Berlin out.

So that'll be after Charleston:

Fed Cup, Warsaw, Rome, Istanbul.

a seeding for RG is not worth risking over-playing. i.e. INJURY!

She has RG to get a good seeding for Wimbledon, and then the summer hard court season for the USO so shes pretty much set after RG, I dont think she is going to try and play another event just to get a top 16 seed.

She knows all too well that she could be seeded 17-20 and get a much better draw than if she was 16th, and vice versa, it all depends on the draw, so no, I dont think she should, and I dont think she will play Rome/Berlin.
