How many times has Maria had shoulder surgery, on the same shoulder? If it doesn’t work this time (and it doesn’t appear as if it has) could this be the last we see of Maria?

She's trying to save herself for Wimbledon but, if she's a no-show by then....

Come back soon Maria

Maria’s never going to win the French Open, she just doesn’t have the game to do so, and the mentality. She doesn’t care about the French anyway, yes, she she’s she does but, she’s just being uber professional.

How many times has Maria had surgery on the very same shoulder? I can’t believe that so many people have their heads buried in the sand when it comes to this issue. Okay, the ‘blinkered fan boys’ will always cry never but, the realists can always see the big picture.

Btw, I’m a Maria fan, so don’t try to distort the facts

I hope not. I do hope she is taking the necessary time to recover and come back for good. I am little worried about her fitness after seeing some of pictures from IW, but perhaps they were just bad pictures. Maria is a big girl and that could be an inhibitor.

Carpenter looks good
By Derrick Goold
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
03/19/2009

JUPITER, Fla. -- Cardinals manager Tony La Russa has alternated from waxing optimistic to openly swooning over what he's called the exciting and effective appearances of rehabbing ace Chris Carpenter this spring training.

The righthander became the first Cardinals starter this spring to throw a pitch in the sixth inning as he needed just 64 pitches to collect 18 outs from the Baltimore Orioles at Roger Dean Stadium. He paced a 3-2 victory that took only 1 hour, 49 minutes to complete. The Orioles put 17 balls in play, and only one was in the air, a popup in foul territory to first baseman Albert Pujols. Carpenter struck out two and allowed three hits, all three of which were grounders that threaded between infielders.

He has yet to give up a run in 14 innings this spring.

Carpenter hasn't won a game since the 2006 World Series.

"It's realistic to be optimistic with what he's done," pitching coach Dave Duncan said. "Not (excited). Not yet. I want to get to a few starts in the season."

How many times do you think she's had surgery on her shoulder? I'm under the impression that she had only one operation.

Specialists told her…her shoulder was fine and healing, until she visited other ‘Specialists’ and they informed her that the injury hadn’t healed properly and she need more extensive surgery which was performed last year…am I the only one in the know on here or what? I thought you peeps knew what these players ate for breakfast?

I will be ok. I am a fan of Kurt Warner. I have to consider that injuries can be serious. I have to consider that an athlete has to make highly personal choices about when to call it a day.

I have selfish needs regarding Kurt and Maria. But, ultimately, I root for them to have good lives.

The conflicting mixed signals about what is to happen next, are what gets me down. It can be a roller coaster.
