She's fine. Listen, that is the way she plays tennis and either you like her, or you don't. I do not think that makes her a bad person. She gets bashed on TF, and you what, who hasn't? I don't care for her when she actually checks the automatic line calls, when she knows science is not in her favor. Bot that is what makes her enjoyable. Don't hate her, she is just being herself.

Please let Penko be Penko without hawkeye dedication to her social media posts and likes, she's not going to be some kind of WTA master diplomat to bring peace to the world. Or especially try to position her to some magical elusive honorable middle ground from sampling her posts, that is a huge can of worms... really does not exist these days and I really don't see Penko ever even trying to be a inoffensive-to-everybody opinion maker (that would end up being offensive to everybody). Certainly not!
And trying to push the perception of her there would just lead her to be attacked from whatever hearsay and third hand "analysis" (meaning: "agenda-serving bullshit") gets popular at any given time.

Wait, I'm a bit confused. I don't think she's a diplomat or that she's some middle ground, she appears to be on the right side of the issue actually. I just noticed that the way she dealt with the whole situation on a personal level seems to be very positive. I'm not pushing the whole Ostapenko the unifying figure as some have called her before or trying to pose her as inoffensive to everybody, all I'm saying is that she appears to be a good example.

It's more any second order reaction that I am worried about. Trying to explain slightly more, I don't want Penko to be used as the "hammer" against other players - she is not taking on that role herself after all. And then you get to the usual cycle.

This is a really good post. You brought out a story about Jelena that I didn’t have a clue about. Normally I am in first in line with the haters to the left to bash Jelena, but I might think twice about that in the future since she was able to show much need kindness to others. However, I reserve the right to continue to make fun of her mouth when she is about to serve. she makes the craziest looks when she is serving. Lol
