it's still a big generalisation. there definitely have a connection but it's just all the martian named posters seem to support her.

Back during the Hingis era (yes, I was there!) she had her solid
internet crew, that also liked Anna.

The JHH supporters like Hingis; but there weren't/aren't her hardcore
original crew. Alot of JHH supporters seem to have liked men's tennis
(Guga, Agassi, Tommy etc..)more before or liked others that
have retired such as Van Roost, Anke Huber, Jana etc...
Some are new and didn't have a favorite during the hey day(1997-
2000) of the Hingis era and were neutrals.


I was originally a Natasha Zvereva and LD supporter during the Hingis
era; but my favorite SWISS was/is Patty.


Some people like Martian can enjoy JHH; but Hingis is still tops.
I don't think you can really drop Hingis as a total favorite. She
was as vital and important during the late 1990's and early 2000's.


JHH and HINGIS aren't interchangeable players. The personality
is like night and day. I don't know why people enjoy lumping them
together just because their considered shorter players??

Not really, as i know a lot of phillistines who actually dnt like Hingis.

I like Hingis and she was my number one until her retirement.
Fortunately when she hit the off-road of tennis, i found the delight of watching henin play such beautiful and mental tennis, (factors of which why i like martina hingis).

their personality is entirely like water and oil!

Anyway, i have heard hingis being interviewed once that she like watching JHH play. She also said that they can get along together since they are both "adidas" girls.

I'm a Justine fan, she's all time #1 for me. And I was Martina fan before she retired!

Its ironic, because JHH is probably the only player in the WTA that I have a genuine dislike for. Certain incidents and personality traits have not impressed me.

And aside from that I really don't see any similarities between herself and Hingis in terms of playing style. They are both petite, but Hingis looks so effortless and natural in her execution and movement. Whereas JHH seems to be forcing and exerting herself to the max. Martina's talents are simply inborn. JHH is more reliant on physical effort and has good power on her shots despite her size. Hingis relies far more on shot placement, constructing her points with perhaps the greatest mind in tennis history.

Here's an excellent example of one of their personality
differences. Hingis has never acknowledged Steffi or players
of an older generation as influences for her tennis. She in fact
said Steffi was "too old" and hinted that the game passed
her by, whereas JHH has always made public that Steffi
and Edberg were inspirations.

I agree that Hingis had a more natural style, and JHH's is
more physical; but I disagree about timing. The speed of JHH's
is bolder than Hingis; but there's also alot of perfection and
accuracy involved with it. I always thought JHH's style is
some weird modern hybrid of a Sabatini backhand, Marcelo
Rios attitude and hitting style with Thomas Muster's physical game.

Both have something in common, their games have similarities, i think the main difference is mental strenght. I think Hingis was one of the most talented players of all times, she had the weapons to fight with everyone, even with the great hitters but her mental attitude wasn't good, and the FO final against Graf affected her very much. Henin is different, she has the determination to win.
I didn't like Martina's attitudes off the court, but i think both have games worth to watch

i like hingis and henin 's games a looot coz its is really interesting but their personnalities are very different and that's why martina will always be my fave number 1 About Justine, i dislike her since oz open 2004, she disappointed me a lot.

Martina was my favourite (and probably always will be), but Justine is my fave player at the moment amongst active players. They do have certain similarities in their playing style but there are also differences - it is unfair to generalise that fans of one will like the other.

Nothing against Justine but I'm not a fan, and I don't think beyond their height there's much similarity. I like Myskina.
