Q: Maggie, which was the hardest game in Roland Garros?
A: All. Of course against Clijsters it was the hardest. Unfortunately
at the end I could take advantage of my opportunities. On the other
hand this was my best showing against her so far.

Q: You arrived in Paris with a new coach. Was he the only one
supporting you?
A: Besides David Taylor, the name of my Australian coach, in Paris
with me were my boyfriend and my sister Manuela. She could only stay
3 days though. Taylor will travel with me only on some tournaments.

[Note: It was kind of funny that Maggie was pitted against
Alicia Molik in the first round since she is also coached by Taylor]

Q: Tells us more about your doubles partner. You won 14 out of 16
games since you started playing together in Miami.
A: We do well because our styles compliment each other. In Paris we
did not play well, but up to then we had such great success that we
were bound to have a bad game against good opponents.

Q: Where are you going to prepare for Wimbledon?
A: My best tournament this year was Roland Garros. I hope to do as
well in London. That is why I will play in two grass tournaments -
Birmingham, where I reached the quarterfinals last year, and

Q: Do you have a favorite for the Paris title?
A: Serena Williams.
[Note by Emil: Not much of an oracle is she. I take it as a sign of
greatness - Pele is like that ;) ]

Editorial Notes:
At Roland Garros Maggie won her 100th game on red courts - in the
match vs Molik. In reaching the Round of 16 the Bulgarian increased her Grand Slam wins to 65. her wins/loses balance for the year is 16:11.
Though she added two doubles title together with Leizel Huber - in
Miami and Warsaw. They also reached the 1/2 finals at the German
Open and the quarters in Rome.

Thanks for the post.
So rarely do I get to hear from Maggie.
Did you put these questions to her?

Here's hoping for a great grasscourt season.
