Its kinda weird, the last two champions, (Pierce 00, Capriati 01) went on to win the title without winning a RED clay tournament but both won Hilton Head on GREEN clay!

So will Hilton Head predict another FO champion this year? :D

That's true, I have noticed it too.

You'll be also interested to know that whoever won the Italien Open (Roma) did NOT go on to win the French Open in the last 11 years. The last player to do so was Monica Seles in 1990 :) It's a little strange since the Italien Open is one of THE biggest red claycourt tournaments and a premier warmup for the French Open.

And the last 2 French Open champions (Pierce, Graf) did not even show up to defend their titles! I hope that does not happen to Jennifer!

Well I think maybe the curse wore off a bit but it still definitely was there especially in the indoor season and losing the No. 1 ranking and such.

I think with the Italian Open, they peak too early.
