I didn’t think she had this level. By far the best performance since sep 21. Set 1 was perfect but 3 was even better for sheer resilience and tactics. She goes into her next match with nothing to lose and has proven many wrong with this performance( including myself) .

That was an entertaining match. Emma played near flawless tennis in the 1st set, BHM upped her level in the 2nd, and in the third both were on even footing until 3-3, when BHM blinked first and got broken. Emma kept the advantage and stayed brave in the most important points, while BHM became passive and tried to keep the ball in play until Emma would miss. It never materialized and Emma served it out.
